Rachael Ray's rescue mission

I've become a fan of Rachael Ray even though her energy can be annoying sometimes. She also works her butt off and seems to deserve everything she has. She won me over when she said bloggers had a perfect right to make sites like I Hate Rachael Ray dot com. But, I didn't know she had a charity for dogs. She's making dog food called Rachael Ray Nutris and the proceeds will go to help North Shore Animal League America and BAD RAP, which is about Pitbulls. HERE's Rachaels rescue site, which is actually a nice site to read all about dog stuff. That's her dog, Isaboo in the pic. What a cute dog and what a good idea she had to help animals.

I love RR. I have some of her cookbooks and the recipes are great. I do think she's a cheap ass on $40 a day...but I'm a bartender/waitress, so I think anyone that leaves $1.47 for a tip needs a kick in the ass, but other than that, I think she's great. She has worked for everything she has, she doesn't claim to be a chef but puts together some good stuff!

Cesar Milan has an entire pack of rehabbed pit bulls. They are so sweet on his show. But a friend of mine that had one for 18 mos and raised it from a baby with 4 shelties was having a nice time with all the dogs, no problems. Then he goes home one day and the pit bull had gotten out of his pen and had attacked one of the little shelties and tore it to shreds. The whole house was cov'd with blood. He had given them no indication that this would ever happen and the family loved him. The vet & the authorities told him that the dog would need to be put-down so they did, that day. Why do those dogs suddenly turn into monsters? With no warning at all? I hate the breed and would never own one or advocate owning one. And I love my doggies! But I dont want another animal or a person potentially harmed by a bastard dog! She can save them all she wants. You just wait, there will be an incident! They have no conscience & give no warning! All the haters can now respond. I dont care what you say. Give me our Scottish Terriers anyday!

I actually had a bad pit experience when I was 17 while walking my timid Australian mix. We were walking our usual cool down route after running in the park, when a pit came running out from an open garage and attacked my girl by the throat. The pit wouldn't let go, and was shaking its head back & forth trying to tear my dog apart. I kicked the shit out of the pits stomach trying to get it off of my dog and the owner didn't help AT ALL. The owner called his pit in and put it in the backyard. I went up to him, yelled at him something stupid and walked home. I didn't realize how much damage was done until later. I had blood spattered all over my shorts and shirt, little red blood dots everywhere. And my dog had holes all around her throat (but she made it.) So hmm, I don't trust pits either...they are the ONLY breed I've heard of this type of thing happening to. But at the same time I have great respect for life, and wouldn't want to see them eliminated for the sake of prevention. There has to be another solution.

Just so you know...some cities in the USA and Canada are starting to ban breeding of pits within city limits, or banning them all together.

We had one once, and they are total snugglebunnies at home, but they can just go off for no reason with strangers or other animals and are NOT a good dog for most families.

Pittbull lovers are really loyal to their pets. They are smart, clean, beautiful and funny and have so much expression in their faces...you could just see what they were thinking. It's just too bad they can be so dangerous.

I think if you have a male pit bull, the 1st thing to do is have it neutered. This will take the need for dominance out of them. And might make them a calmer dog. I would never want one. Neutered or otherwise. And keep yours away from me & my family & dogs RR!

alot of young guys like to walk around strutting their pit bulls on a leash. I think they feel like it's an extension of their penis. I am being serious. Makes them feel BIG! And it's usually some skinny kid too in oversized basketball jerseys and baggy ass pants. They just want everything BIG! Because they aren't.
