Miss Tia's cat, Maple had to have a limb amputated because the break wouldn't heal. Of course she's not going to put her to sleep! Miss Maple will be fine..I'll bet she will be as fast as any other cat in time. Get well, Maple.

Poor Miss Maple. She is a very pretty cat. Animals can adapt and have great spirits, so I am sure with lots of love and some spoiling she will stay very happy.
Maple is doing fantastic! She's 14 and doesn't act it in the least. She has quite the attitude!!
When i went to pick her up from the vet she was hopping all over the room!! I got her home and she was jumping!! She's gotta be confined to the floor though for a week, but then she can jump all she wants and after her stitches come out in 2 weeks, she can run around the house!
14! It's good to hear that she is doing so well. I had a cat that lost her tail once for the same reason, a break that wouldn't heal. Not quite the same thing, but their tails are important for their balance, and she was ok.
14 good grief!!!! That age is dangerous with the anesthesia. Get well, Maple! On the bright side, is not a hind leg, otherwise she'd be frustrated trying to scratch behind her ear!
p.s. yeah right get a cat to be quiet...a missing leg is not gonna stop them!
thanks anon 9:17!! and everyone for their well wishes for maple! maple appreciates it!!!
waterlilly---i haven't seen her try to scratch her ear yet...even though it was her front leg, she might have some balancing problems trying to scratch her ear...
it is just amazing though how the very next day she was hopping all around the room and to see her hop up on the desk chair and then up to the dresser that you see her pictured on is amazing!!!
the vet was very pleased that for her age she was doing so well....
age wise my vets are that concerned with anesthetic...Mikasa had dental surgery at age 14 (and she's 16 now!)....

I know she'll be fne. It's sad, but, I'm glad Tia let her live. I had a three legged dog once and he did fine. They adapt.
