Pete was released yesterday, it was a fine day and I'm so glad I got to be there. Pete turned out to be..a girl! Uhhh, hey, I never said I was a squirrel expert and all squirrels have nuts, right? Shudup. Anyhow, her new mom was pretty freaked out when she went up that huge tree, but, I said she'd come back..and she did. That's Pete smiling on her cage after the adventure. Awwwww, we did a good thing, Deb! Someday Pete will stay outside and build a nest and have grand-squirrels for us.

She flattened out like a squirrel pancake and rolled in the dirt and grass, it was the cutest thing I've ever seen.
is she gonna know how to build a nest before winter? i suppose it's all instinctual...
She has a complex now cause you named her Pete.
Summer is nearly over, we don't know if Pete will adapt before it gets too cold. If not, one of us will winter her over. Not to worry.

awwwwww........ and on that note did you see that peta did a good thing? well uk peta anyway. they have managed to convince the royals that their guards wearing bearskin helmets is not a good thing since those particular black bears are now nearing extinction. so anyway, the royals are looking at a fake fur replacement!!!!!
