PETA wants Ben & Jerry's to stop using cow's milk in their ice cream and use human milk instead. It's kinder to the cows and their calves, says PETA. As for the millions of cows who've been induced to produce a 100 pounds of milk a day? Let them explode, I guess.

not to mention the potential for passing on pathogens of hep C, AIDS, etc via breast milk....and of course the whole ick, that's for kids!
and what does PETA propose? massive forms with women hooked up to automatic pumps 20 hours a day?? would the women be forcefed steroids and growth hormones?
PETA is getting more and more ridiculous...or maybe it's senility??? it's time for PETA to be humanely euthanized....
Wow, I agree with Miss Tia today. PETA could sponsor pet dumpsters where you can take your pet when you want a new one. They will kill it and chuck it for you at no cost. PETA is a radical group with an agenda, and if you disagree with them they will come to your place of business and cause property damage. go free Richard Gere's budhist girbles and leave my dogs, cats and tits alone.
Or perhaps they are being outrageous to create awareness. Cows being induced to create that much milk everyday is pretty fucked up. Or at least as fucked up as using another mammals milk; humans.
I agree with 12:05. It's the shock value of the idea. I used to belong to PETA, years ago, but couldn't go along with the extremism.
Peta wants to kill all pets, all farm animals, all zoo animals. If a species becomes extinct that way, PETA is fine with that. PETA sponsors terrorists. PETA terrifies children and alienate them from their mothers.
And PETA gives a shit about humans.
ice cream based on human milk would be... well interesting. Nothing for big scale production, just for 'try something strange' aspect of the human soul.
But PETA is disgusting - and must be destroyed.
Well I rarely agree with Miss Tia. News for you sister - breast milk is for humans and cows milk is for cows and so on down the great chain of life sustaining milk.
Personally I would not drink breast milk as a adult - but cows milk is equally as disgusting.
if PETA had any brain cells, they'd be asking for a non-dairy ben&jerry's ice cream! (there might already be one, i am ignorant and only eat chunky monkey)....just like they protest how fast food places kill animals, how about protesting for non-meat dining options??

I sold my milk when I was nursing my twins. It wasn't easy to get clearance. The testing was extensive prior being accepted. I was then placed on a list and NICU mothers could contact me, meet me and then make their decision. I still get emails from them stating that their kids are in their 5th winter without a cold, allergies, they send updates, pictures and blessings. Whether it was my antibodies or not, I am always overwhelmed with pride, like I was part of some exotic "takes a village" project.
For the curious, breastmilk smells like maple syrup.
