Ghost Walk....life in a small town

We had so many kids for the Ghost Walk this year, I don't know where they all came from, but, it was cool. They descended on us merchants like sugar starved gangs of goblins and the costumes were awesome. I'm not exactly a merchant, but, I got to give out the treats at our shop, which made me a good witch for a day. They sure did start early though, frick, I hadn't even had coffee yet. My back gave out after about 400 kids and I had to let someone else take over. We had probably 700 treats and only a handful was left over so we know there were at least 600 trick or treaters. I had a hard time picking a favorite. There was one kid dressed as a hunter, pulling his baby brother in a wagon, dressed as a deer. Gonna be some issues in that family someday..heh heh. But, I think little Charlie Brown with magic marker curls was the clear winner for me. I thought it was creative.

we have a ghost walk here but it isnt the same as yours. ours has been running since at least the 1980's. you buy a ticket & go downtown warren ohio. guided tours take you around to historical areas & volunteers dress up & tell actual 'ghost' stories at each stop. they only do it on the weekends in october. when you get back, you get punch/coffe & a cookie. it is a great alternative to a haunted house. my family has been going since the 80's. they change a few of the stories each year but there are a few that are every year, like the underground railroad story at the last stop & the perkins story at the perkins house. they are actual true stories in the record books. the historical society puts it on. they used to do the millionaire walk too but they havent done that one in many years. you got to go in the historical houses downtown & check them out. they told the stories of the families that lived there & about the property & houses. very educational & interesting.
