Mom and Lissa in the snow this morning

Lissa watched Frosty The Snowman last night and woke up to a white yard and she was all excited. Mom was going out to get the mail and got corralled into a snowball fight and catching snowflakes on her tongue out by the back porch. Lissa had to wear my boots and socks for gloves because the 12 dozen sets I got her go home with her and are never seen again. The hat basket was temporarily empty. It always is when the snow finally comes. When the sock gloves got soaked she used mom's garden gloves. The whole house smells like wet dog now, while everything drys by the heater. But, she was so happy it was infectious. Mom was upset 'cause she hadn't done her hair yet and said "You're not going to put those pictures on that Internets, are you?" I said, nooooooooo. So if she asks, you never saw them. I stayed in and watched out the window. The snow is only magical if a kid is romping in it...besides, she had my snow boots.

that first picture is fantastic!! But i didn't see it! ;)

i know gloves disappear cuz every year i buy the neighbor kids several pairs of gloves and within a week "i need more gloves"...there's a glove blackhole somewhere....i think it's with the missing sock blackhole that everyone's dryer has....

You're a good soul, has anyone told you that lately? When I was a little kid there was a teacher who bought me gloves, (so I could be like the other kids at school) and I still remember her fondly. The glove lady. Awww.

I still remember her name, it was Mrs. Sainthellen, in Oregon..first grade. I thought she was a plump angel. She smelled good too. I used to sniff her when she hugged me. She was the person who took me to a library for the first time. OMG! I KNEW she was an angel then. An angel or a movie star.

thanks DD!!! I did need to hear something like that today! I've had a horrid week!!!

yeah, i'm the suppler of free fun all seasons here....i find perfectly good sleds when i go 'treasure hunting' every year and i have about 9 sleds next to my house that the kids can use....they can take them home but i cannot find them in the street or in someone's yard....they're good with those rules...i also supply shovels so they can shovel people's walks/driveways for money, but i have taught them to never take money from the elderly....

when we get a lot of snow we are going to have the robinette ct. winter olympics with snow ball throwing, sledding and i found some cross country skis treasure hunting too that i'll let them play with....i let them throw all the snow balls they want at my fence too....

and of course i give the kids birthday gifts and xmas gifts...and candy on a regular basis....and i listen to them...we have better in depth conversations about politics than i have with fellow adults....they have awesome insight...

and they're all looking forward to painting on my house/fence in the spring since i didn't get that finished this year!! yeah, we have fun here!

Great pictures. The joy that the 2 of them had together outside was so vibrant through the lens - you captured them well.

How fun for Alissa to have all these wonderful memories and pictures of you all.

I bet your really excited about the snow - NOT lol.

Laughed about the boots and stuff. Funny how that happens. Some how "grandma" always know what to do and have a magical room or something cuz my mom would always find things too for my son if need be.

Well enjoy the snow, looks like summer is over :)

Crystal..it's pretty now. Wait a month, the car won't start and the water will be frozen solid and I'll be bitching up a storm.
