Happy Holidays

I hope the holidays are good to all of you. I hope you're all on Santa's good list (even you, crabbie). Hey, remember to buy batteries and take the toys out of those horrible screwed on packages before you wrap them. I love you all, and wish you and yours the very best. Dirty Disher

Yeah.
Best wishes, y'all.
I'm off to see Quantum Of Solace again.
Last day on the big screen around here.
Then, for next week, Transporter 3, tee-hee!

Have a great one, Dishy. (and everyone else!)
It's been a tough one, this year. We normally don't get snow at Christmas, most years we don't get more than a light dusting or maybe an inch or two all winter. This year we have seventeen inches (as of a few days ago) with an ice layer one inch thick about eight inches down. It snowed again this morning. Few things that have been ordered (even the express stuff) is going to make it in time. It's just too hazardous out there. But it sure is beautiful. And hilarious. Whole new set of problems. When I let the doggies out, they don't know where to go. It's just wonderful to have the time with my family, and quietly observe our holiday. All the family stuff has been cancelled, so no rush to buy, wrap, or go places. Not even much motivation to bake. Except the fact that when we moved here, I started the tradition of baking cookies and making candy and giving it to neighbors, and now they all do it. . .and this year I am left scrambling to catch up with them. My act of good will has come back to bite me firmly on the ass. It's okay, though, the cookies are good, and my family is around me. What could be better?
Have a beautiful and peaceful holiday.

well we are just at the end of our christmas day. its been a great day. we spent it at my sons fathers sister's house (his aunt). they live in a fantastic house in the hills just 23 km out of central melbourne, surrounded by kookaburras, rainbow parakeets and other exotic wildlifelife as well as very beautiful old trees. a real contrast to my inner-city concrete existence. it was nice to be there with my sons family. the weather was great, blue skies, sunshine but not too hot. lovely. i hope your day of christmas celebrations are wonderful and filled with love and happiness. all of you. i know its been a tough year for you dd and this christmas will be full of memories and wishing your son was there with you all. i know that his presence will be strongly felt. thankyou dd for sharing through your blog and being there every day. with lots of love to all of you from downunder.

Meissa, yes, we live in northern Oregon, and we have been slammed. They are comparing this snowfall/ice blast to one 40 years ago, and we are either setting a record, or are within a hair's breadth of it. I think we expect a few more inches today, but the temperature is up, so we are melting before tonights 29 degree predicted temp.
It is so pretty, though, and I am planning on going out to play in it today, as the temp is up.
We may be trying to visit the in-laws today, though they live about 15 miles away, and it is hilly and icey. I wish we could stay home.
Have a great one!
