He's got that Coke Aluminum bottle and it's really cute and just the right size and I wonder when we'll get them here? Probably 10 years from now or when they're discontinued and they have to ship the remains to Siberia and Iowa. We get those little half cans of Coke in sometimes and I buy 'em. Most of the time they're out of stock. So I ask this store dude why they don't have them and he says most people want a whole Coke. Oh? Then why are the little ones out of stock? He says because they don't order very many. I smirk. Yeah, genius, that's why you have a career as manager of the canned goods aisle and I'm just a commoner. This place stinks, just so you know. People think country living is quaint..it aint. Need boots? They're right between the salt licks and the fortified chicken feed. It's cold as a mother fucker too, I had to open the cupboard doors last night so the pipes didn't freeze and break. But, yesterday I drove to the big city to shop and took my mom with me. We went to Omaha..have you been to Omaha? It's a nice size city and a pretty city..we still couldn't get a cup of coffee at a drive through. Shakes head. That's because kids work at fast food places and they don't see the need for coffee in the afternoon. So mom says "Who's their manager?" And I said some other kid with zits and Pepsi breath. I was glad to get home..a hunerd an fidy miles from nowhere. At least we have coffee. And it's quaint. Cough.

can you get the glass little bottles of coke?? they still have them in grocery stores around here and walmart has a big honkin' display of 'em....also walmart is the 'exclusive' seller of round plastic bottles coke...looks like ornament shape....very cute looking...
No Wal-Mart here. I'm not kidding, I live in the cuntry. We have a post office, a grocery and a gas station. Oh..2 beer joints.
They charge more for the little half cans of coke in the 6 pack here then they do the larger bottled 6 packs. It's a total rip off.

That's the same brilliant argument I hear at Costco about why they don't have any size smalls in women's clothing left after the first week. It's been years of hearing the same story and I only ask once in a while to see if anyone intelligent can admit their buyers are really stupid and don't care about the customers.
Buying half size cans isn't a rip off if you waste a whole can. I can't drink a whole can before it goes warm...and that's so gross.
And yeah, anon, I agree with you. The buyers at chain stores are totally stupid. They buy only in their own size. I wish I got paid to have a brain fart everyday like they do.
And I like that ornament, Tia. Everytime I see Coke ornaments I think of my son. Awww.

Having been evacuated 3 times in the past 5 years (due to threat of raging inferno) the midwestern deep-freeze almost sounds good. But I don't think there is any state in the country immune to the wrath of Mother Nature. lol
As for the dearth of shopping options in the country, literally everything from Coke to Louboutin shoes can be had on the 'net. Yeah, there are shipping charges, inherent risks, few real bargains and you do miss out on the thrill and excitement of bustling crowds, losing your car in a 15 acre parking lot and blistered feet-- but it's an option. As my midwestern GG used to say, "Six of one, half-dozen of the other."
