Proof . .

Proof we did the right thing by replacing him with Obama. Of course, we could have replaced him with the Vlasic Pickle Stork or a pinata and it would have been the other right thing. The first family is obviously retarded. We hire the handicapped here in America.

I love their puppy's tho! Barney & Mrs. Beasley are precious. WE have Scotties too. They are smart & so sweet. Best pets. And if you are thinking Barney is a bad boy for biting that cameraman, think again. Dogs know...they just know!! Like kids know. You know it's true!

w/o actually running the video (I'm at work) can I ask why is Melissa Rivers sitting there with the President & Laura Bush & their dogs? And why isn't that dog biting her?

I WAS embarrassed to be an American. Then when I watched this, I was *really* embarrassed to be. After the inauguration, I'm going to be proud again. It's just another few weeks.

I am so disappointed that fellow Americans would say they are embarrassed to be Americans.

I don't care what administration is in office, the United States is one of the greatest countries in the world. We are flawed, but we have freedoms others die to get and some among us are embarrassed to be a citizens?!

We are free to express our opinions.
I strongly disagree with you all on this one.

I am American and lived abroad half my life in third world, violent, war-torn countries because my parents worked for our government. Peaceful, diplomatic work. We never knew if we would have electricity or water. I could look out my window at night and see a battle on a mountain...artillary going back and forth while the guerilla military attacked a power station. I have heard a massacre happen from a few blocks away.

Have you ever left the country? Do you have relatives or friends you admire that ever served our nation? Where is your patriotism?! Do you volunteer? Do you work to make your community better?

We aren't united? You have no idea how many people would love to live here and be free to pursue their dreams. We aren't perfect, but we are pretty awesome.

People have, and continue to emigrate here...Our nation's history is rich. Nobody is perfect, We have many shameful moments in our history too(slavery), but we have an amazing history, don't break us down.

The united front we showed on 9/11 was amazing and showed just how awesome we can be together. I lived in DC through that time. My husband was working that day at the Pentagon, and I knew real fear again, for the first time in my own country.

We have tough times behind us and ahead, but don't denegrate this country. We are stronger together...helping each other in our own communities...we need to keep that strong spirit alive, now, more than ever! We are going to have to lean on each other.

My ancestors came to MA from England in 1632 and started anew. I have ancestors that faught at Bunker Hill, a few lost their lives. All of them gave everything they owned to the American Revolution. They lost it all for a dream and vision of a free country.

I am so proud of our Veterans! Be embarrassed of Hollywood and their excesses, but not the country itself. Feel embarrassed by an individual that represents you, but don't take forsake an entire country.

My roommate in college came here from Vietnam in the early 1970's. Her family worked hard and created a new life. People can come here for refuge.

Our history is awesome. We aren't perfect, but we are free! You have no idea what it is like to live in the middle of a civil war, which I have done abroad. Death squads, assasinations. Fear for your life because there was not a stable government, military or police force to keep you safe. As a child, I was smart enough to appreciate what I had as a US citizen. I have never been able to fly into DC without feeling great emotion. Our flag gives me chills. I look at it and remember the people that have made this a safe place for us and continue to do so.

I am so grateful I was born into freedom. I may disagree with decisions made by our elected officials, but I am never embarrassed of our nation.

Do yourself a favor and read, "Profiles in Courage," by JFK.
