Sorry but smoking is as cool and intelligent as lung cancer and heart disease.
I don't care if he smokes - I just don't want the media to focus on it or in some way glamorize smoking for a generation to belive that it makes you cool and intelligent.
the smoking here has nothing to do with the coolness of the pictures.... ciggie or no ciggie, he looks great in these photos& it is a factm that cant be seen in a picture, that he is a highly intelligent man.

I agree with Bill in that the public should let him prove himself as President before thrusting sainthood on the man.
The ironic fact is he was voted in because he's black, not because of experience, political standings & laurels.
And voting a man in based on skin color is just as stupid as hating someone because of it or their religion etc.I hope he's has the depth of character and strenght that some have attributed to him (based on nothing he's done only hope he will do)
Spouting MLK & pressing those emotional buttons isn't going to fix this mess that Bush dumped on the entire globe. I honestly hope Obama is up to the challenge, he's at least making sound choices in those he's been apointing, they all have a great deal of experience, something he lacks, so at least he's surrounding himself with it.
i did not vote for obama because he's black! whereas i am sure some people did vote for him only on the basis of color, i do not think the majority of his supporters did...

I could be wrong, Anon 3:23, but I think ms.tia was saying she voted for obama, but not b/c he is black. but, because he is qualified. It can be taken out of context to read "she didn't vote for him b/c he is black." meaning that she didn't vote for him at all based on the fact that he is black and therefore making her racist. I took it the first way - that she voted for him based on merit and not color. As most of us DID. The rest of racists on here who think he got in just b/c he is black is just ridiculous. He got in is spite of being black in america.
