Big sister to Seraphina

The Afflecks named their new baby Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck, which I don't think is all that weird. There's a lot of normal options there, Sara, Rose,Liz..at least Serephina is a real name. Here's what I wonder about..that photo showed up on Jan. 13 and it was Ben picking up Violet at school (on Jan. 12) and taking her to visit mom in Cedars Sinai. But, Serephina was born Jan. 6th. Why aren't they home yet? Doesn't that seem like a long time to be in the hospital?

Although now a days, mother's seem to go home the day of deliver, but if she had a C-section then it wouldn't be that strange. Perhaps she was getting her tubes tied. Quite often if a woman decides to have that done it is done after delivery.

Something might not be 100%, so they are monitoring her - but 6 days is a long time to stay in the hospital for just a delivery of child either way.

When my daughter was born, we were in the hospital for 5 days because she had jaundice. Maybe it's something like that...just a thought.

I think its a ugly name, but I don't think Violet either, May-be bitch got fixed she isnt that young.

Violet is a doll! Ben looks like all the dads do, only more handsome, picking up their kids around here. Wonder who was in the school to get that picture? Oh, never mind.

My mother tells me that women used to stay in the hospital for a week after giving birth. They practically had my generation give birth through a drive-up window -- you know, stick your self through, pop it out and drive on.

they kicked me out before my daughter was even 48 hours old. i would have liked to stay longer, there everything is taken care of, when you go home you have to take care of everything. she is a rich celebrity so i don't see how that would be an issue with her though, she could easily get help at home. hopefully they're all fine.

It may be some medical complication.
If she had a c-section, the normal length of stay is usually three days, even if you have your tubes tied at the same time (it's not a separate operation if you are already having a section). The hospital has to allow you to stay for four days if you want to, though. (Federal law), but most people feel ready to leave at three. Having your tubes tied other than immediately after delivery is considered day surgery, so people do go home that very day. It's a shame, I think, as it is underrated for pain, and many people are just very uncomfortable (nausea, etc.) afterwards. Maybe she had a tummy tuck at the same time? Maybe she had issues, or the baby isn't feeding well, yet. When you are a celebrity, and have loads of money, the rules are kind-of thrown out the window, I would guess.

While I love Serafina myself and her other names as well, it seems an ill fit for the sister of a Violet. Rose Elizabeth is more what I expected.

oh puhleez! It's HOLLYWOOD.
I sincerely doubt there are any complications or jaundice or tube tying. She's following up (probably her last) pregnancy with liposuction and/or a tummy tuck...perhaps a breast lift ...then she'll tell us all how hard she worked to get her "body back". yeah, right.
