A new cat showed up here last week, I just noticed him because he's friendly. Casey J. was visiting from KC because she didn't want me to be alone on Eric's birthday (the 23rd)..awww, she's such a thoughtful girl and her visit was a good surprise. Anyhow, she says this cat looks just like a Scottish Fold. So I looked 'em up and he does. Folded over ears, huge round eyes and short nose. She's gonna take her new Scottish Fold home, he's her cat now, and I hope he fits in with the rest of her zoo. Casey named him Camden.

Shame on people who dump animals..'specially in January. It's still below zero here and it's snowing. You are not nice, you stinking animal dumpers.

Little Camden kitty is the cutest.
I hope he/she enjoys the new home.
why do you think he was 'dumped'?
Cats wander around all the time. My mom's neighbour missed his cat for two full weeks until it suddenly showed up again. Who knows where it was or what it did? It is still healthy so maybe it eat somewhere else.
ATM it looks like your friend stole a cat....
oh - and to make it clear - the cat was gone from shortly before christmas up into the new year... when it was extra cold here.
My moms cat was gone all summer once. She came home knocked up! Little tramp, out whoring around then comes running home when she gets in trouble...:-) I suppose when you are a beautiful white long haired temptress with the name "Sugar" what do you expect?
She was dumped at my moms as a kitten, so it does happen. People are assholes. She has had several cats dumped there over the years.

:hugs: for Eric's birthday.
people who dump animals should be put out in the desert with no water....
We have over 40 cats here..all of them dumped. Ok?
Thanks Tia. :)
Sweet thing. Damn those people who dumped Camden. They don't deserve to have a sweet little kitten like this.
Our cats climb up underneath vehicles and get taken away a few blocks, or to different towns without the driver even knowing. Cats are also self-serving traitors. Introduce me to your most loyal feline, and I'll prove it. It's a survival instinct they're born with.

People need to be more responsible with their pets. Yes pets wander sometimes but they're less likely to if they're spayed and if the owners pay attention to when they are let out. It's better to keep cats in @ night and in cold temps bcos that is how they die.
And yes it tears my heart when ppl dump their pets, even in shelters.
I can't get the mentality of this. I took care of my pet even when it prevented me from finding a place to live for months. Camden was very lucky to be dumped bcos he found a way more loving owner. Scottish folds are sweeties.
Yep. That's how I got a spare cat now; had to live trap 'em before it hit -30 here in WI. He's all black and I named him Hex. I think I've found him a good new home too. :D
He's such a sweet looking kitty. I hope all goes well for little Camden in his new home. And I hope you are doing okay on Eric's birthday DD.
THANK-YOU, DIRTYDISHER!!!
Thank-you for speaking up and out for the animals. We must be their voice!
Sadly ppl still think of kitties as disposable and it is nothing but a cruel and inhumane way to treats cats/kittens.
Good karma* for your friend who took him in. He's adorable :)
Spay/Neuter & save one!
You ppl who think cats just wander are complete, morons! cats do not just wander and btw! save the rest of us who volunteer in rescue future heartbreak(s) and at least spay or neuter.
I hope the ones who left these posts do not go on to reproduce ( shaking head ) how " skerry".
Cats don't seem to wander around here. But, I am no cat expert. I am only the person who transports them for spaying and neutering. My mom, brother and auntie are their care givers. It hurts me to see my mom spending all her retirement money on all these unwanted animals. And every night I listen for the car doors slamming, which means a new one will show up. One day I will catch these dumpers red handed and, man, it won't be pretty. In the mean time, nothing goes hungry around here. Nothing goes without shelter. It makes all our lives more difficult, but, that's the way it is.
DD...I know how you feel. I care for the ferals/strays in my neighbourhood as well. I have no tolerance for these assholes who can't be bothered to spay or neuter their cats because they 'like kittens' or are just stupid and lazy. Arrgh!
not to be a downer, but in my area somebody has been killing local dogs and dumping them, They even went into someones yard and killed a dog that was hooked up. Also the past couple of weeks 8 dogs have been taken custody of because owners weren't feeding them and leaving them outside all day and night in sub zero temps. It angers me to know end and makes me want to cry. On a good note, a small border collie looking dog went missing in the middle of November. There were signs posted all over tow. I guess he was very shy and ran away from anyone that tried to approach. Then there were no sightings for a couple of weeks. The owners finally found the dog on Christmas eve. It ahd been through all the bad weather you could think of. When he went missing he weighed 30lbs, and when they found him he was only 7lbs, but is expected to make a full recovery. It made the local papers around here.
DD & Ronnie!
Bless you both for doing more than your fair share. I too, do TNR ( Trap-neuter-return ) for Ferals & strays.
*Word* to the public, Cats are not disposable! they hardly hunt, that is definitely a myth! when hungry they will look for a dumpster or handouts. Cats also need shelter from the elements and they do live humans but only if you love and care for them. Please stop dumping them and please! stop being so cruel & inhumane to animals-
Scottish Folds are beautiful!!I also agree with spaying and neutering all animals. But, further, there is really no reason to let your kitties outside. They are very happy to live their existence without going outdoors. And, safer too. I have owned many cats. Mostly ones other people did not want and were going to give to shelter. But, we don't have any no kill shelters in this area, so we took many. And, none of them went outdoors. Thus, none were injured by other cats or dogs, or cars. They lived to ripe old ages We are down to the last several now, but have always taken good care of them. No reason to do otherwise. Keep up with their boxes, and you won't have any problems.
