Us: How is John doing? Ossi and McDermott: "John is distraught. He is trying to understand and reconcile this. He is seeking an explanation so that this makes sense to him. And his loved ones are trying to provide that to him. Yesterday was the worst day of his life. Today is probably equally as bad, and if not, it's the second worst day of his life. John is recognizing the outpouring of support he has got from both the U.S. and the world. He can feel the love and he says it makes him stronger and hopefully it allows him to reconcile. He is undergoing the pain any father would if they lost his son. Generally a son buries his father, and John thought that would be the way it would go with Jett, not the other way around. He is in shock. He is emotionally distraught. He is going through many different feelings of disbelief and anger. It's going to take a while for him to feel good again. This is the most traumatic thing that has ever happened to him and he needs to go through a process of healing. John and Kelly are suffering total misery. They were so close to their son. This is hard to accept. He had set a vacation for his employees and friends. Forty-nine adults and their children were coming here [to the Bahamas] from Jan. 2nd to 4th. We were all so excited to spend some days with John. We were on the plane and we had no idea, and then we landed and we found out. Every year he holds a party for friends and employees and this year he had the idea to fly us all to his condo. We were planning to hang out on the beach, go for boat rides and spend time with the family. Us: Have John and Kelly spent time with anyone since everyone arrived? Ossi and McDermott: "John and Kelly have been pretty much locked away. We are staying here until John leaves. The autopsy should be on Monday. Us: How is Jett's 8-year-old sister, Ella Bleu, taking it? Ossi and McDermott: "John broke the news to Ella. She is heartbroken. She is in disbelief, but it is starting to sink in. She has been asking where her brother is. She was so close to Jett. The whole family were so close. They went everywhere together. If John made a movie, they were all there with him. Us: It's been reported that Jett was left alone for several hours before being discovered. Can you clarify the timeline? Ossi and McDermott: "Jett was not left alone. He had a nanny present at all times. The nanny was sleeping close to Jett's room. There was a baby monitor, a chime on the door so it was known when Jett was going in and out. He was completely supervised. The nanny found him.Us: Is it true that Jett died in John's arms? Ossi and McDermott: "Jett may have still been alive when John administered CPR, and then the EMT took over. Jett was pronounced dead at the hospital. I like to believe John had a chance to say goodbye. He may have died in his dad's arms. I am not certain."Us: It's been said Jett had a history of seizures. How often did he have them?Ossi and McDermott: "I am not confident to talk about that. I know he had a history, which of course warranted the extra attention."Us: You obviously knew Jett well. What was his personality like?Ossi and McDermott: "He was a wonderful boy. He had physical limitations, but when he looked in his dad's eyes, the love was tangible. When he grabbed onto his dad, he did not want to let him go."

John Travolta blogged about it on his site, but, I can't get in there, there's too much traffic. Here is what he said according to Yahoo : "Jett was the most wonderful son that two parents could ever ask for and lit up the lives of everyone he encountered," Travolta said in a statement posted on his website "We are heartbroken that our time with him was so brief. We will cherish the time that we had with him for the rest of our lives."

As for Dirty Disher, I am trying hard to behave here. Can you tell? I feel their pain (you know I do) and yet...what will the investigation show? Did the boy have seizurses that were treatable with meds? Were meds withheld because of Scientology? What actually killed him? I guess we just have to wait. Rest in peace, Jett.

I certainly know you DD understand the pain John and his family are going through - much more then me and I was pretty heartbroken hearing this news. Of course, I don't know the Trvolta's, but being a mother, I just can't imagine losing a child and all the emotions you go through.
As soon as I heard, I thought like you DD - could this have anything to do with Scientology and their belief in NOT using drugs. I wonder if we will ever truly find out - I would imagine that if this could have been preventable because their choice of not treating it properly according to their beliefs, this would be a huge crush on Scientology and therefore with the money the Travolta's have and other celebrities practising in this belif, I fear it being swept under the carpet.
I do hope we find out the truth though, whatever that may be. No matter what the cause was or could it have been prevented - I guess many things could be prevented if we look back - but we only do what we can do with the present day and hopefully learn from it.
My heart goes out to the family - what a heartbreaking way to start a year.

Apparently they were giving him anti-seizure meds, but they weren't working so they stopped them. Which was wrong, they should've went back to the doctor and changed his prescription.
Many people with epilepsy do not have seizure control with meds. If the seizures come from one area of the brain, surgery may be the only option. Some people with epilepsy can be 100% siezure free for years, and then out of the blue have a breakthrough seizure that is often times unexpected and therefor a serious accident can happen.
The actress Hunter Tylo's son died from drowning while seizing. So sad.
Sure, Scientology is super whacky, and ironically unscientific, but from what I understand Jett was on medicine.
That siezure medication info came from Perez Hilton. I think the matter of a dead kid is for the police to handle, not Perez, for fucks sake.
the seizure med stuff is on tmz....they said the kid was on depakote for 2 years and then it stopped working effectively and was affecting the boy's liver...so instead of putting him on something else, they discontinued medication...
i think the travolta's truly loved their son, but i think their scientology beliefs affected the treatments that Jett could have received...
its no one business the details 0f their family tragedy. the Travoltas dont owe anyone more than they posted already
This is heart wrenching. I have brother who has seizures due to a major head injury. His seizures are controlled with meds and he only has had issues when not taking them (which has been nearly 10 yrs). I'm not saying all seizures can be controlled by meds, but certainly there is that possibility. Also, is it just me or does there seem to be more to the story? A 16 year old needs a nanny and a bell on the door? The rep says he has physical limitations? Why are they tip toeing around stuff? Anyway, my heart goes out to them as they clearly loved their son. They owe us nothing. It is just interesting to speculate on the role of scientology here. When it comes to a child, we all (or most of us) feel it deeper and can hopefully learn something
Of course it is no one's business what another person does or doesn't do, however this is not a perfect world and I think it is human nature to wonder and when it involves a well known celebrity it adds to the fuel of interest I think.
We all have beliefs and some of that is not beleiving at all in things, but what I was trying to get across earlier is, whatever reason caused this death - nothing takes away from the saddness, but I think with any tragic event, if there are any ways it could possibly be avoided in the future, then it should be looked at and we all can learn from it. Knowledge is a powerful tool.
Seizures are a mystery in many ways, but they also many times can be monitored and treated and quite often controlled very well but all this is usually done with doctor's and medicine.
Many deaths are unexplained, unavoided and sometimes answers are never found, but I hope for the family's sake they find the answers they need to help them get through this terrible tragedy.

Virtually all the major news networks are reporting that although the Travolta's have made statements to the effect that Jett was discovered "almost immediately", the police stand by the fact that he was *not* discovered for "at least 10 hours"--- even going so far as to state that they "understood the parents' pain and their need to believe otherwise."
-THAT- is what I have a problem with. With the Travolta's staff and infinite resources, a child who suffered from weekly grand mal seizures should *not* have been left alone... not even for one
minute.
Something stinks.. (to high heaven). And I think this might be one occasion where money and power aren't enough to sweep controversy 'under the carpet.'
Heartbreaking as this case is, I agree with 1:05. I smell a coverup brewing. The family obviously doesn't want to appear negligent of a child with severe disabilities, who could blame them? But the facts will speak for themselves.
Or will they?
As of 4:30et, Jett's autopsy is complete and the official report will be given to the family. According to MSNBC & CNN, it's going to be the family's decision as to whether or not it will be made public, but results could still be leaked. Too bad the family can't see the logic in being honest regardless of how painful the truth might be. If they fail to release the report or release a sanitized version, speculation of a cover-up will run more rampant that it already is.
And I disagree with those who believe this boy's death is a private matter and "nobodies business". It's ironic that anyone reading a celebrity gossip blog would say that. lol
Celebs can't pick and choose the details of their lives that they want released for public consumption. Fact is, celebrities make a deal with the devil and use the media to boost and sustain their careers from day 1. They can't just bury their heads in sand when tragedy befalls them.
