Rockers in wax

Madame Tussaud’s is at it again. It's very Janis, isn't it? Right down to the choice of furniture. Sharon and Ozzy are spot on. Click the pics to see 'em bigger.

These are fabulous. Ozzie looks a bit like Angie, but that's true in real life, as well. Unreal to see such a life-like Janis again, isn't it? Very cool.

OMG! Makes me appreciate my JJ CD I have been listening to so much lately. I swear DD, everytime I hear Janis I think of you! She was so great. I love her voice. Pisses me off how so many rockstars have ripped her off. Axl Rose, Steven Tyler..gawd, clear down to the scarfs! I love those guys too, but when you think about it, they totally stole her style, all the way. The swaying, the scarfs, the fashions, the whiskey voice & screams. I love it but they did steal it from Janis.

Yeah, she broke it open for white blues singers. She was the first star/concert I ever saw. I was 14. I hitched across country, it was a diff time.

You know what I remember the most about her? Her feet and toes were always moving, shaking to the music. The music moved through her and hit those feet and you knew she was in another place. Good MT showed her toes there.

well, I'll tell ya, she was short! So if they have a tall singer or actress play her in the talk-about bio pic thats been gossiped about, it wont come off. Her toes do look like they have a little sumpthin' goin' on dont they? I noticed they are really showing and not too dainty. But she was probably not so very clean or worried about it so much. Who did back then? Nobody gave a shit if you had dirty feet. Everybody had dirty feet! LOL!!Those were the days DD!

JJ's college in Texas frats voted her "Ugliest man on campus" in 9163. You know she got a kick outta that later on, when she was singing her heart out. Bastards.

You might enjoy this, Dish.. Candid views of Monterey Pop-1967 set to "Creeque Alley". Look closely and you'll see a number of faces, among them a happy and relaxed Janis.

Am I the only one who thinks Ozzie and Sharon look "waxy" in real life too?

Maybe it's British people in general. They're all on the waxy side.

Thanks for that link. Creeque Alley is a kick ass song and they all look so young and happy..and stoned. Cass was blown away when Janis sang. Her mouth just hung open.

Gawd...Dishy. Cass & Joplin, the whole gang. Could you just die. They were so unpretentious and f'g real as hell and raw. A cool time to be.
