It's probably a relief for them, honestly. They were never good at being 'good' examples. 1st grandaughters and then 8 yrs of 1st daughters. Thats a job. They are probably glad to vacate.
I agree with 2:30. They must be glad to leave the viper's nest in Washington and return to Texas. I am proud of Fmr. Pres. Bush. He is sincere and unwavering in his patriotism. People that hate him are the same ones that hate religion, hate Israel, believe global warming is man-made, pro-abortion, failed recovering addicts. Take a lesson from his strength. I saw the "comforter-in-chief" cry with families of fallen servicemen.
You know they gotta be happy to have daddy out of the WH. Hard enough to be a teenager or a 20 something without the world taking your picture (think about it) and showing it around the world at the worst possible time. Not to mention having to take blame for what your father did while in charge. I think they were pretty typical teenage girls while they were here in DC. Could have been MUCH worse.

Actually Jenna is a schoolteacher & Barbara works for a non-profit organization. I think they kept a pretty low profile as much as young & pretty First Daughters can. I don't believe in punishing a child for their father's sins.

Um, I don't know very many people who didn't drink underage...and don't get me started on how ridiculous it is to have a 21 year old drinking age. The one where Blair said that receiving letters from parents of fallen soldiers made him waver momentarily in his commitment to the war? Bush replied without a moments hesitation that he never had any doubts whatsoever. What kind of heartless asshat says something like that? For your information, I don't think he is patriotic, I think he is just trying to be a spinmaster. How many laps did the aircraft carrier have to take off the coast of California before they got footage of him just right so it appeared he might be on the other side of the world, with his troops?
