I work with someone who has the ?Nike or ?Reebok version of this toe style on maryjane canvas shoes. Ugly no matter how it is presented. I can't imagine it is really very comfortable, either.

OMG. Those look like a leather version of the canvas ninja-style shoes that were popular when I was in seventh grade, back in the 80s.
