It's okay to leave a kid in an orphanage until they're old enough to come home and work, but, grandma's and baby's daddys come slithering out of the woodwork when Madge comes around offering to take one of their orphans. They might as well hand that kid over, Gristles boots cost more than the entire country does. She could just buy Malawi and turn it into a cool celeb resort where her and Fishsticks could get away from it all. Madonna knew damn well the publicity she'd get with this shit. Lourdes looks pissed. Cell phone reception is probably a bitch in Malawi.

Madonna won't leave Malawi without her baby!

Ok...what's the freakin' deal? Why do these celebs always go outside of the US to adopt? Aren't our kids "bad" enough for them? It's like they are hoarders who snatch up exotic kids instead of cats! Yeah, she could get a child here. There's plenty that need homes, but, then she wouldn't get controversy and publicity like she does with this Malawi shit.
She's trying to draw attention to deplorable living/existing conditions in Malawi in general. I agree it's an odd way to do it, but perhaps she has been moved enough by her experiences to compel her to adopt from there. Why does that surprise people?

The reason she's still there is the Malawi court is set to give their ruling on the adoption on Friday.
If she won't leave without the kiddo, then let her stay.

I don't get the whole Malawi orphanage thing. Why isn't the "concerned family" keeping her at home? Or are they only concerned when someone tells them to be?
As for support, Madonna has dumped a ton of money into schools and such in Malawi. She might as well just buy the joint outright and save on the adoption fees.

its ok to pile shit on celebrities, they deserve it, they are rich and privileged beyond what any human deserves. but to heap shit on people so poor that they have no option but to send their kids to an orphanage so they get fed and dressed is a bit off. you need to read up on conditions in malawi before you pass judgement on the poverty experienced by these people and the lengths they are forced to go to in order to get even just a cup of rice a day into their starving bellies. aw come on!! you must have seen the photos!

I'm sure Madge will leave with the little girl and my hope is that the child will from then on live a life of privilege including loving nannies, good education and all she can eat. We know she'll have brothers and a sister ready made for her. While Madge is a bit long in the tooth to be starting a new family, hopefully no one will suffer and the little girl will benefit greatly.
People go outside our country to adopt because, if you have the money, it can be easier, you can pick your child, and it can be permanent.
We tend to value family ties so much here, that even though a birth mother is unfit, and chooses to give her baby up, she can undo that decision long after the baby and the adoptive family have bonded. It's the way our legal system works, and it really doesn't do anyone any good.
THERE ARE PLENTY OF CHILDREN WHO ARE WITHOUT FAMILY FROM HURRICANE KATRINA!! WOULDN'T THAT BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR HER?
