Nicole blogs

Nicole Richie shares her secret of great hair, the Brazilian blow dry! Of course it's superficial, but, there's nothing condescending on her blog. I don't get the feeling she thinks she's better than anyone. She's just excited about life and it's cute. Are you taking notes Gwyneth Paltrow? She's probably way too snotty to click Nicole's site. Paltrow would pretend she's never heard of Nicole. She's never met anyone who doesn't own a private Greek island or a Pulitzer.

How about some before and after pics of Nicole when she hung out with Paris and Rachel Zoe. Leaving Paris Hilton and that scene was the best thing she could have done to get better.

OK, so a Brazilian on your snatch means a huge wax job "down there" and now a Brazilian on your head means you keep your hair & they make it huge with more fake hair? Totally confused now. Hair, no hair? They need to make up their damn minds in fucking Brazil.

Is that a recent pic of Nicole or was it from when she was pregnant with Harlow? If its new, I didnt realize she was that far along already. Its hard to believe that she's black, she doesnt have a hint of black features on her.

I'd be excited too if I was a talentless "personality" who hooked up with a poser "punk," shat out a coupla kids and for some reason people worshiped me.

"Meet Deborah Epstein, 32, a law student from Forest Hills, Queens. Her hair was so fragile a ponytail holder could snap it off. Then she tried the Brazilian Keratin Treatment. She cried after seeing the amazing transformation of her hair.

Mark Garrison, a New York stylist who offers the treatment, remarked in the article: “For a woman who had a thorn bush for hair and now it’s like silk, well, we’re talking revolution.”

This treatment is known as a progressive blow-dry, or “escova progressive” in Brazil where it originates. In the US, it has been available for less than a year.

The treatment lasts anywhere from six weeks to several months, and can cost from $150 to $600. The solution is made of keratin, which is a protein similar to that found in human hair. Finally, the formula is sealed onto the hair shaft using a hot iron, where it traps in moisture and adds a glossy finish.

Aside from the hot iron (450 degrees!), another potential risk is that the formula contains formaldehyde, which is a carcinogen that can irritate eyes and lungs. However, a spokeswoman for the Food and Drug Administration reported that there are no restrictions on the use of formaldehyde in cosmetics."
