Have a heart trap

I don't know if I have much of a heart, but, my mom does. I've been trapping cats for weeks now, and we're down to about 15 cats, 7 of them are mom's pets (and spayed and neutered). I have to sort them out when I catch them, and also the kittens to the right mother. There's this amazingly nice farmer who called and said he'd take all I would bring. I went out there, expecting, I don't know what, but, it was the prettiest farm..with tons of nice barns and healthy animals. He feeds once a day and they're expected to mouse the barns. I caught two BIG pregnant cats last night.

Sadly, some of the strays are not healthy and I can't, with any conscience, dump those on him. I'm not talking about that or telling my mom. I caught a raccoon and turned it loose, it was nicer than some of these cats. The mean ones scare the piss out of me. So, that's what I'm up to. It already smells better outside. I'm making a big sign today "Animals dumped here will be destroyed." It's not true, mostly, but, maybe the idiots will move on with some of their unwanted animals. These animals make me very sad, but, also mad and I'm glad to NOT live in a creepy smelly cat farm anymore. My mom kills me though, I have to tell her (like she's some little kid) "Don't worry mom, they went to a pretty farm, they're so happy." Even when it's not true.

You are nice. We tried to have the animal control officer in our town trap some strays in town & bring them to our farm. So, he did. 3 of them. Guess what? They beat him back to town! We like them for mousers too. And for killing moles. The moles are bad this year. But you know they say you can't move a cat? I believe that.

Animal control here is just some retarded guy who dumps them or amuses himself by torturing them. He's special ed and works cheap. The stories about his cruelty make me ill.

Waaait a minute. Obviously if enough people are aware that this bastard is torturing animals-- something can be done.

How about a nice little .357 bullet between his eyes? Oooops!

People ARE aware, most people. It's politics, he's related to someone. It's cunting bullshit.

4:50:00 is one of those idiots who needs to be put to sleep.

I completely understand, DD. I've got to start the trapping & spaying/neutering soon around my house. I love kittens but I hate seeing them around my house, knowing that their lives are likely to be rough and short.

And 4:50 clearly doesn't have basic reading comprehension skills. Shame on them.

LOL..yeah, I collect cats and hoard them because it's so cool. Jeesh.

PS.. all the ones who can be tamed enough to handle get spayed or neutered. Those you can usually find a home for.

Ewww. Cats are so fucking dirty and disgusting.

well, cats are easy to store if you freeze them. The animal most fit to hoarding.

Catching them is more troublesome. Especially with hedgehogs in the area. Because these little bastards can open the traps. So they wander in, eat the bait, open the trap and go away. No cat will be caught afterwards ...

We have a TON of strays, two are now our spayed and pleasant family members (one neutered male just passed away...all raised since birth and wonderful cats). We try to help the "eccentric" lady down the road to do the same. She/we try to get them all, but....so many?!
We recently found out that our redneck, hillbilly asshole neighbor traps them and lets them rot, or drowns them (so eccentric lady says). I have yet to see it, but believe it with the level of civility I have seen in my neighbors so far. What is wrong with people?!?! That picture of the cage gave me the creeps.

They get pretty mad when they get caught in that, but, it doesn't hurt them. I make sure to set it when I can check it, so they aren't in there very long.

I applaud anyone with the intention of getting poor helpless animals out of the "wild" and into good homes. You are a wonderful person for doing this, DD (and your mom - I also have 7 cats, all rescued of course!).
