I'm sharing this because I feel nice today

Peggy gave me this jar of home made dressing and I sniffed it and said, nice, thanks. She offered me the recipe, but, I said, don't bother, I'll never make shit. I'm not Suzie Homemaker. Then I tasted it. OMG! I eat it on everything, meat, salad..I'd drink it like a beverage. I swear, it's the best stuff I ever tasted. I HAD to find out what's in it. You're a fool if you don't try it.
*
Green Goddess Dressing
2 Cups Mayo (not the salad dressing stuff)
2 Cups buttermilk
1/2 bunch Fresh Parsley
1/2 bunch Fresh Green Onions
2 large cloves Garlic
1 teaspoon salt (to taste)
1 teaspoon pepper (to taste)sugar (to taste)

try 1/2 cup blue cheese crumbled just before serving (barf - I hate blue cheese)* use sour cream (or plain yogurt which is what you had) in place of buttermilk and use lemon juice enough to help it mix in the blender.
*
The "barf" was Peggys instructions. I like blue cheese. Buttermilk is pure evil, but, in this stuff, it's delish! It bears NO resemblance to that grocery store crap with the same name.

It's funny- I totally thought you were going to say that it was an oreo milkshake :-)
The dressing does sound good too- plus, I love the name.

I always think of Peggy as the Green Goddess. She's a former Catholic good witch.

Saving this one in my favorites. Sounds like it would be perfect for the summer. Thanks for sharing.

"I eat it on everything, meat, salad..I'd drink it like a beverage."

I had to LOL at that. Reminded me of the old 'I Love Lucy' episode where she and Ethel go into business for themselves selling "Aunt Martha's Salad Dressing".. During a TV promo Lucy posed as a consumer who loved the dressing so much, she drank from the bottle.

Always could relate to that. It's not my first choice of drink, but God knows I've been known to slug a little salad dressing in my time.

(Thanks for the recipe! I'm looking forward to adding it to my recipe book. I'll decide later whether to list it with "Dressings" or "Beverages"... lol)

Just to clarify, it's not a "book"... lol It's a collection of recipes in a binder!

If you put your kids pictures in it, it's a book. Ask Kate Gosselin.

I long ago got the impression DD ate packaged or fast foods - nothing really fresh and tasty. So now I can say to you that THIS is why I love eating fresh foods. The difference in flavour is indescribable and it's hard to go back to factory food. So I didn't.
