The Obama's met the Queen at Buckingham Palace. Shortly after this photo was taken, the Queen gave the Obama's her tea order and ask that they include some of those colorful collard greens she's heard about.

I have read extensively on the Queen and her family, I have hundreds of books on them....the Queen is not a racist...i would say a couple of her children are though and there have been other members of her family who were racist, including the Duke of Windsor...
I don't think any big deal was made of the gaff. The queen had her hand on Michelle's back too, while they were chatting. Americans are probably exempt from that no touching rule in casual settings. I think. The Queen didn't seem to mind.
I have read that Prince Phillip, aside from being a meanie, is a bit of a racist, but I wasn't surprised. He wants and wanted so badly to be king instead of royal consort.
I don't think Liz looks uncomfortable at all in the picture. I think she looks very royal and sweet and tiny.

She has been queen since she was 23...that is a long time to have your daily life planned at for least 2 years in advance. Talk about dedication.
She really is a lady...so few left.
25 when her father died....even before he died she was doing a lot of his engagements as he was in such poor health....
i hope she lives long enough to be the longest reigning monarch....
