Obama Bows To Saudi King. Impeach His Ass Now.

Some of you might be unaware of the official protocol that applies to the President of the US or perhaps feel Obama's obvious bow was "no big deal", but the fact is the President of the US DOES NOT BOW to kings --or anyone else for that matter. And while President Bush did take the hand of Saudi Prince Abdullah during his US visit back in '05, it wasn't anywhere near the same thing. The bottom line is that while the US President -is- expected to show respect to royalty, heads of state, etc; NEVER should he make a demonstration of inferiority.

When Bush took office he inherited a surplus, we all had jobs and for the most part, we had the respect of nations around the world.
When Obama took office he was handed a crumbling stock market and banking system, 2 wars, the highest unemployment rates in 30 years and an astounding deficit.

This thread started out as pokin' a little fun at President Obama for bowing to the Saudi King. It has now degenerated into the same histrionics that usually accompany partisan politics in this country. Let's face it...without the press and left-leaning pundits blaming Bush for everything from drought to hurricanes there's not much chance Obama gets elected. Blame Bush for the deficit? Ok...fine. How many other presidents faced something like the attacks of 9-11 and the resultant chaos? Blame him for the banking collapse? Uh...it was the Clinton administration that loosed THOSE hounds! We get all up in the air over stuff but don't really fact check a lot. I wish President Obama all the best in restoring the world's faith in America, but I don't want him to do it at the expense of our sovereignity.
I voted for Obama and I still have hopes that he will turn the country around. Hated GWB. On the other hand, I saw that deep bow he made and it totally freaked me out. We don't bow to anyone as Americans. WTF was that about? We don't kiss rings and we don't bow down. That was not good.
