OctoTwat thinking about appyling for WIC

Nadya Suleman said she is contemplating applying for federal assistance to feed her 14 children. “If I need to apply for (the Women, Infants and Children program) to provide my babies with formula, then I’m going to,” she said Wednesday. “I have to let go of what people think. I can’t live like that.”
*
She's lying again. She already gets WIC, betcha. Everyone who has a kid under 5 and is on welfare automatically gets WIC. Now she's acting like she has to humble herself and kiss ass for the babies' sake. Octo says it costs $2,000 a month for baby formula. Someone add it up for me. That sounds like a lot, even for Octo. But, if she was good at math, she wouldn't have 14 kids. Gub'ment cheese is like currency here. I wish I had a big ol' bag of skunk weed. I'd trade it for some Gub'ment cheese. That's good cheese.

Ok, this is a pretty generous estimate..formula is about $14 (I'm sure that would vary by location) you'd use about 10 containers maybe less per month per child (under 6 months) so that is $140 and multiply that by 8 = $1,120. Does that sound right?

Yeah, that's what I thought. It's still a lot, but, she's already told us she gets food stamps...so she's get wic too. Such a liar.

I am not on WIC and I don't have a kid. But I am deeply offended when I see grocery store employees and other customers give moms on WIC the side eye. WIC exists to help people. There are people that abuse and people that need it.

Personal soap box (sorry to go off thread, DD)...I am pissed that our service members are paid so little, their families are often on WIC.

I hate Octomom. Why in the hell did she try to even have one more baby she couldn't afford, muchless 8? I know, I am preaching to the choir, but my jaw just drops when I think of her choices.

Why can't she use a breast pump to supplement the formula feedings? It's like a COUPON!

I used WIC and I felt really bad about it, but it was truly necessity as my hrs at work were drastically reduced right about the time maternity leave was done. I really tried breastfeeding and it just didn't work. And yeah, grocery store employees act like they are being put out even if I have everything organized as to take as little of anyones time. Luckily there are exclusive WIC store around. Personally I already feel bad enough about asking for assistance and that's the only help I get, I wish some people would be more understanding.

Anon 1:30-

You should never feel ashamed. WIC is there for people that need it. Everyone needs help at some point.

I did not mean to imply that breastfeeding solves everything! It doesn't work for some women. That remark was a joke.

I don't mind standing in line for a WIC mom to feed herself and her kids. I am sorry that you have felt the snobbish looks and sighs.

You've gotta admit tho..she looks damn good for someone that carried eight babies... (im talking bout her stomach not her face).

No one's off the thread and I feel the same way. Food stamp cards and WIC are there to help those who need it. Fuck store employees acting like they're better than anyone. How long does it take to swipe a card through?

I don't even resent Octo getting it. I just want her to stop lying. She won't though, it's her nature. I used food stamps when I was in my last year of college.

Them's my thoughts too dd. I've never collected welfare, etc and I was a single mom....luck of the draw, I'm not going to pretend it's due to innate superiority.

And I'm continually pissed at the arrogance of store employees, glad you brought it up.

Most store employees are really nice, but, there's a few...man! They comment on what I buy, like not a nice comment. A nice comment is "I've never tried that, is it good?" No, they comment on how I buy mostly fruit and meat. Like, "wow, you must be on a diet? It must be on sale? Har har. You must really like pears." Shut up. They piss me off.

How DARE someone comment on what a customer buys! I have never had anyone do that and they would be so sorry if they did because I wouldn't let it just go with, well, you are obviously an asshole... I'm sure I would advise the store manager and find myself in another line next time. I'm so pissed off right now at our apathy at leaving that Captain with the pirates that I'm about ready to take anyone's head off, so maybe I'll just go off to my local grocery store....heads will roll.

I had an organic store clerk fuss me out for bringing a competitor's recyclable grocery bags into her store. I was trying to be green.

I wish I had had the energy...but I didn't ruin her day. So could have.

No, you dont automatically get WIC if your on welfare and/or foodstamps, you have to go apply for it, WIC is a completely separate organization, its not like they just send you the checks because your on welfare and/or foodstamps. I know this because I used to work for my county's public assistance office.

In Iowa you're given the form to sign when you apply for any ADC, if your kid's under 5. Simple signiture, same day. Is it diff in Cali? Even if it is, Octo had been on aid when she had the 8..so I'll betcha she's gotten it all along. She just had to inform the state that she was eligible for more.

ADC, WIC, none of that bothers me, with the exception of the breastpumps that WIC gives out if you ask for one. If you are planning to return to work, then no problem, but if you are staying home, and just want to be able to pump occasionally, etc. why should the taxpayer have to fund that? It makes no sense to me. Total waste of funds.

NO YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!

YOU HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR WIC, NO MATTER IF YOU HAVE WELFARE OR NOT!

ANYWAYS, EVEN IF YOU'RE SIGNED UP FOR WIC. YOU HAVE TO PICK IT UP, IT DOESNT ARRIVE IN THE MAIL....EVEN WITH ENROLLMENT, DOESNT MEAN THAT YOU AUTOMATICALLY GET WIC.

she has been investigated by the county CPS. So, trust me those people know if she was getting sufficient aid for the kids. If she wasn't she got it by the time they got done with their reports. If she refused it, THAT would have been investigated 'cuz they know she isn't working. No, she is already on it. Trying to save her pride. Wo cares. Those babies need to eat. Thats all I care about. We all need help these days. 8 new babies or not!

Stop capping retard. Are you Kanye? She didn't say that anyway. DD I question the mentality of some of your readers.

She probably wants to buy all her formula in prefilled/disposable bottles, which would cause the price to soar to 2 Grand. I'm sure she can't be bothered with washing the bottle/sterilizing them and mixing the formula. One minute she seems to have money oozing from every pore, then next she is ready for welfare. I am sure she has gotten some substantial money from her interviews, magazine spreads, and her web site.

She got a "plan", and it's rolling along right on "schedule". She just ticks me off.

Food Stamp Program and WIC are entirely two different programs from two different places. Just wanted to clear that up. You can be eligible for WIC but not for Food Stamps. There is no income limit for WIC.
