I agree with you DD. Madonna's selfish bullshit is causing little Mercy even more pain. If she wants to be a Mother to little Mercy she should buy a place in Malawi and stay there until the issue is resolved.
I wonder if they would let Madge take Mercy in if she, madge, bought a place there? I feel so sorry for this little one who has had the rug pulled right out from under her. DUH - maybe they should not have told her "this is your new mommy and new brothers and sister" unless and until the deal was done.

I do not blame Malawi and you shouldnt either its their laws to protect children from being adopted out of the country there is a huge problem in chid trafficing in Africa children are sold as slaves, sex slaves organ body parts.. the Law states that If anyone wants to adopt they have to live in the country for 1 to 2 years They let Madonna off the first time with David they werent going to do it a second time.

There's been much discussion of this topic in the media. There are a number of children residing in the "Mchinji Home of Hope" who have living relatives. Madonna's adopted son David Banda, had been placed in the Home of Hope even though his biological father is alive and well.
Although most children at the Home are in fact orphans, approval is often given to the children of particularly poverty-stricken Malawians to be placed at the facility where they are afforded an improved and consistent standard of living-- a warm bed, nutritious diet and possibly educational opportunities.
I believe I read somewhere that there's an affiliation with a "Children's International"-type organization that provides children in desperate need with the basic necessities of life through private donations.
Anyway, it *does* seem bizarre that children with living family members would be placed in an orphanage-- but in a region where many don't even survive childhood, I think I'd make the same sacrifice to give my child a chance at survival.
Bottom line if she loves this child as her own and wants her, she needs to move there for the 18 months required residence to adopt her. But we all know Madonna wouldn't dare miss out on all the pap attention for an entire year and a half.
She should never have introduced her other children to Mercy and certainly never screwed with the childs head by telling her she was her new mommy.
I don't blame the extended family members for not taking in orphaned relatives, their level of poverty is hard for us to comprehend, they know they can't provide for these children,being related is besides the point. But for these extended family members to be given the power to in essence stop an adoption by saying they don't want "their" little one taken out of the country is just as wrong.
If the childs in care and up for adoption, extended family shouldn't have a say in it, if they aren't willing or able to take the child in. It cripples their changes of being adopted. You can't have it both ways, someone to foot the expense of raising and caring for the child and then you can swoop in and lay claim to them and all associated with them, doesn't make sense. It's the kids who loose.

I know that in the 19th century in the US poor families often had to send a child or children to an orphanage if they were very poor and just could not support them. So this does not seem all that strange to me.
she should give poor children with NO family living in America or Great Britain a chance. There are so many children in need of a family in places other than Africa.
I bet she doesn't want to adopt from these places because these children speak english and have places they can report or more after adoption progress updates so if they aren't being treated well, someone WILL find out, for the most part.
Madonna is probably still in a state of shock over having been told "No" when trying to get what she wanted.
I feel very sorry for little Mercy. It's terrible that she was told she was getting new siblings and a new mommy before anything was finalized.

I agree with you 100%. IF Madonna really loved this girl the way she CLAIMS too, then she would live there. But like you said, she is a media whore and wants the attention on her 24/7.
Like I mentioned b4, if Madonna loved children she would set up a school etc for all impoverished children.
Who knows, maybe Madonna needed a female maid to go along with her male one, because Madonna seems like that type of bitch. Adopting foreign kids to wait on her and her other kids. JMO.

I respect Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt for the real humanitarian work they do. Say what you will, but they are building homes in New Orleans, she is a representative of the UN, and they both donate time to help others. Madge here is just trying desperately to stay relevant. The Jersey gal with the fake British accent needs to spend a little time with the children she ALREADY has rather than trying to humiliate a judge in Malawi into giving her another.
I was a foster kid, and my wife was GIVEN to her babysitter because her parents couldn't provide for her. Children in America need love, too. They just don't generate the same publicity.
