I wanted a place to track the progress of this garden and a place to write more personal stuff. I like it when you guys write back in comments and tell me things you do or stories about your families. I read all that stuff and I enjoy it. So this was to be that kind of site. I want to find people who inspire me, people who make things and grow things and just live. I've found several really interesting You Tube people who are journaling all kinds of cool stuff. I'll post about them later. I read several journals by extraordinary ordinary people. There's some linked here and some that post here that I've been meaning to link. Anyway, I hope I can straighten that garden site out and make it work. If not, I'll use this place and the celebs can take a hike back to their tanning booths and plastic surgeons. I have to go run my mother and aunts around now, it's old lady check day, but, I'll be back this afternoon to work on things. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

DD, your new gardening site sounds like a wonderful idea with what you have planned to do there. Very life-giving. Your Hydrangias are beautiful...simple, pure and elegant. I hope you get the kinks worked out with the templates on the new garden site because it would be a site I would definitely put on my favorites list.
I went and looked at your garden site. I think you should take a picture once a week from the same place to track your progress and plant growth. I'm very excited that you are sharing. It's upper 40's here, so I'm salivating at your work. You have some good areas cleared for planting!! I'm a lily expert, and I should have dug up my hundreds of dollars of bulbs before I moved in '06. I miss them.
But what would it be about in the winter months? People like gardens. Questions/answers are helpful for gardening problems. But in the winter your garden is gonna be a dried up dead, frozen pile of junk, like mine! I guess you could blog about the snowman you build in the dead garden. I dunno, it seems pretty limited to me. Like watching grass grow or paint dry. Not sure about this venture. Possibilites yes, but not unlimited.
wonderful Idea for your blog. a garden enriches your life in beauty and postive energy. I always wanted to do a Moon garden , you plant certain floweres shrubs that by the light of a full moon glow .
you can do herbs too I have one its wonderful to go out and get a cutting of Mint for drinks, rosemary and chives.
Oh ye of limited imagination! Anon 3:43...DD is creative...there's more than one type of garden to have. Rule #1 at the garden site, no sour pusses!
gorgeous blue there DD. Are you going to plant it or is it the kind you keep in a smaller container? I have an absolutely beautiful Hydrangea (sp? lol) in purple that is beside my house. I will definately take pictues when it is in full bloom and send you some.
Just starting to work more on the front garden too. I was going to take some pic of my back yard full of tulips, but my darn son took the memory stick and he is at school - will do when I find it.
You certainly deserve flowers and especially lately (btw I sent you an email last weekend??). I like this site - it is a great idea, but either way - keeping it here or as a part of the other works for me.
ohhh I am sending you a pic of my dog as soon as I finish here. I know the weekend you put up family pic's etc. I will apologize right now but I don't know how to shrink them, so you will have to do that if you need to.
OK I went to post all this on the other site, and I couldn't. It said I had to choose a profile/format or something and it wouldn't accept my posting. So I am not sure what I am doing wrong -but you know me and computers lol.

YOur hydrangeas are lovely, I wish I could grow them here in Florida.
ah but all winter you ponder and dream and plan what you will do NEXT spring....a true gardener is never satisfied with their garden!!!
i like the layout over there!
Yes yes, winter can be hopes and dreams and research for the next season. Thats half the fun. Starting seeds inside, then transplanting the tiny plants!! Oh I miss it all so much. I have pictures of my former garden, I'll dig them up and maybe can you post them on the garden site? I wish I has the $$ and the predictable weather for a flower, or any garden. Northern Michigan sucks.
Cool, DD!! Looking forward to a non-garden-snobby site, for peeps like me...wanting my own pretty yard without spending a whack!!
I love the name. I grew up here:

where lamb's quarters grew and were eaten in salads. Made me feel all nostalgic!
Beautiful hydrangeas! I'll be growing them for the first time this year.
its a real nice idea dd. i like it because its positive and affirmative and celebrities aren't.... at all. i don't give a shit about celebs really, i only check into this blog because i like your wit and creativity.
I think the site is a great idea DD..in the winter maybe the site could look like a newsletter. Where future ideas can be posted, articles on gardening and gardeners. Maybe people could ask questions and others can look up the answers. There's a lot that can be done for a site that could go dormant during the cold months. What about indoor gardening of herbs and the like..see lots of ideas.
Keep it up..I went in to have a peek and I like it already. :)
