Awwww, Baby lived with Miss Peggy. One of those deals where the son gets a pet and mom ends up feeding it, right? We all grew fond of Baby. Baby is a nice critter. Very large though..I couldn't lift Baby at all. It's a good thing she's so sweet.

Sweet my ass...it scares the shit outta me just lookin' at it!!!!!!
Baby is a nice Columbian Red Tail Constrictor. When she lived with us she was only 7 ft long. She loved to go outside for a slither, which upset the neighborhood bird. One bird would spy her in the yard, and start yelling - pretty soon all the birds would be in the same tree as the first, all in a dither. Then it was time to take her back inside for her safety. She always resisted. Straightening herself out long enough to bar the way into the house. Since she was so big, she was pretty slow, not like a little snake that could wriggle and be gone in a snap.
Remember how she head butted my thigh? LOL! Talk about unnerving. But, we sat there watching her do it and she wasn't even trying to bite. We were like, wtf? Then we figured out she was shedding and trying to start her nose peel.
A snake is not capable of being "sweet". I don't care what you say. If it gets hungry & you or the nearest small child are the only food available, you will be lunch. I hate snakes. I am a dog lover. Snakes are not meant to be "pets" at all. YUCK!!!
Aww, much as I love dogs, I always had snakes as a kid. They DO know you and they respond to your smell and touch. They can be real nice pets. I wouldn't want a big one around a small child. I agree with that. But, some dogs are not to be trusted either.
