See that bug in the middle? I don't know what that is, but, I have a lot of them on the day lilies. They're a big fat bug, ugly, but, not too gross and they only eat day lily buds. I figure there's enough of them to share and the garden spiders seem to love that bug. One of the critters I love most is the garden spider. You know, those huge black and yellow orb weavers. They are a Summer spider and they're just now coming out. I always save a few of their egg sacks in case we have a hard Winter. I always love watching them. You have to think about things like that before you go killing off a pest. You might kill the food source of something you love.*
I put that pic on here huge, in case anyone can identify that bug. You can click it.

I think spiders are beautiful and their webs are true art...
That bug is a fat little sucker. He's sort of cute.
I'm scared of snakes but am fascinated with them anyway. I like the little garden snakes we have up here.
