Did Van Gogh have trolls?

I love Vincent. I think he was hot in an odd way. That's Cafe At Night, my favorite painting in the world. I love Bedroom At Arles too, they just make me happy. Vincent had trolls, they were people who laughed at him and said he painted garbage. Vincent didn't listen to them, thank goodness, and he kept painting and painting. I really don't think Vincent just layed around and took shit though, no one will convince me he did. He may have been odd and different, but, he wasn't dull and he knew had worth. Maybe not any money, but, he had Theo for that. I'll bet he reamed them good at times. I know he did.

Lissa is here and she's upset. A (her mom's live in) made her throw away the jewelry we'd made because they had letters on them and he thought I was hexing him. He was truly frightened. I told DIL, for goodness sakes, why would I have my grand daughter carry a hex? That's kind of obscene. It's too creepy to think about. I wouldn't hex A anyway, I kind of like him. Besides, I have no time to waste power right now, it must go....elsewhere. ~Smiles~ I told Lis we'd make more jewelry and she can keep it here. Honestly, people just tire me out sometimes. I could write a book of truths and misconceptions.

I have the day off! Usually Saturday is my Monday but, the woman who owns the shop wanted a day off so wanted to know if I minded her closing up and said, are you kidding? Yay. Day off.

Enjoy your day, DD. Poor Lis, you just can't explain away heartbreak to a child. I've never seen that painting - the colours are very, um...I dunno....pure. Nice.

She's not heartbroken, she was just having a hard time explaining it all. DIL backed her up and we got it straight. She's just mad because it seemed unfair to her and she thought I did something wrong. Or A did. She's okay now.

Poor little thing! Well, what you need to do, is you & her make a new necklace & make it a special one she only wears at your house. Go get a pretty little hook & put it up & tell her this is where she hangs it when it's time to go home & it won't move until she gets back & puts it on.

She seems like a wise child.

Love the painting, 10doll, you are a hoot! Pat, you are sooo fortunate to have a Granddaughter to make things with. And I love how you take the time to explain
things to her. Enjoy your day off.

What pisses me off DD, is that some women can not be alone. They let a damn man move in and make the rules. I'm sure it's no big deal, but I bet Lissa has to learn his rules. Rules are sometimes good, but how do women let men over rule their children? My mother let her boyfriends spank me. (up to age 11 when I moved in with my grandma permanently) I'll never forgive her for that. She always let the boyfriend dictate the vibe of the household. Luckily when I was pregnant her boyfriend at the time was a grandfather who was very involved with his kids. I got lots of love and help. Had he been different, I would have been screwed, again. I don't mean to rant about my mother, but she was the Kate Gosselin of hippy mothers. I learned at a young age whatever she said or did, the opposite was the right thing to do.
Why the fuck are women so afraid to sleep alone?
I'm grouchy today, it's storming and I've got a ton of homework to do today, and I just want to sit in the sun and drink coffee.

Do you really put hexes on people DD? Serious question. Or is the guy just totally paranoid?

Hi DD I can't believe he's that shallow to think
that you'd give jewelry to your lil Lis to wear
with a hex on it tell him that u saved the hex
for a special peice your are making for him lol
and that Kiki said for him to free his mind and
hopefully the rest of him will follow and not to be
colourblind it will make him stay shallow.
Hope your lil gd hasn't had her feelings too
badly hurt and that you are making some new
pretty necklaces as I type this post. Kiki =D
N-joy your day off with your lil Lis :) DD TTYL

He's not a bad guy. I just feel bad that he'd think I'd do that to him. He's good to Lis.

"Bedroom At Arles" is my favorite Van Gogh. Coming in close second is "Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette". Third, "Irises".

I do hope your day off was fruitful and glad to hear everything worked out with Lis & Co.

VanGogh had it tough. Was always broke. He had the same ear disese that I have, Menierres. THATS why he cut off his ear and I totally get it. Then he killed himself. Yea, I get that too. That damn disease makes u wanna kill urself. He painted blurry swirls and whirls. Yes, thats becase thats what he saw all the time & he wanted to show the world his hell. I love him, even before I knew he shared that with me. He was just 37 when he died and probably suffered it mostof his life. Its not something you would wish on your worst enemy. He was so amazing but he was in agony and suffered. Caused him depression OH yes! It does. Poor guy. I totally get him.

I'm glad you got it straightened out. Nobody needs tension getting in between Lissa and you. Maybe it helped your DIL's other half know you better as a result. Nice she came to your defence as well.

I have the coolest Van Gogh pop-up book. It turns into a little four room house. The rooms are his works of art come to life in 3D - Bedroom At Arles for example - and the walls are decorated with his works as well.

freaken weird! I just ordered a poster of that piece (3ft by 2ft) and hung it over our television! I'll send a pic once I find the camera!

Off topic. Even if you don't like cats, watching this one on video is better than taking a Xanax, I swear I don't know how his owners don't crack up while taping him, no matter how shitty a day I've had he makes me smile.

p.s. I hope PETA isn't after me, this isn't cat abuse, if you watch the other videos on youtube about Maru this cat likes to have things on his head and if you type in "maru" on youtube he is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face, we should all have a Maru.

That would make a great garage door!, or even a background in the garage with colors in the inside walls to give the impression that you are inside, looking out at the street. With your neighbors beating the dog, your Mom coming over with company and cats showing up at the door it just may feel like an old French town.

I agree. Love Van Goch art. Also agree with your take on youth overtaking YouTube. I try to play a game (ISketch.net)....love it! It's being taken over by young ppl who do not know how to spell or play by rules, or enjoy a good joke. Should you make a million dollars and make a place for us all...? (I don't have the resources). I've been here before...I hate the signing in shit.

I hope that since you explained to him that he is OK in your book, he has nothing to worry about.

Bipolar disorder sucks. I do not have it but know people that have..My mom did and my sister does. It is awful.

laura linger said...

That's MY favorite painting in the whole wide world, too!

I saw a Van Gogh exhibit in Tokyo, it was unbelievable. Crazy Vinnie and I also share a mental malady called bipolar disorder. I, however, have managed to keep my ears intact.

Dirty Disher said...

Laura, I'm so jealous that you got to see that!

Anonymous said...

Yea! Laura got to see that AND she was in Tokyo! Thats doesnt suck! What a priviledge to see his works.
