Dumb as a fence post..occasionally

I took an Ambien last night, it was time for my weekly sleep. I kept having these bizarre dreams about living in a mini Chrysler building and frantically cleaning a dog pee spot on the cream carpet. I hardly ever dream and when I do, they are vivid and usually pre-cognitive. I struggled with last nights dream meanings all through coffee making and my shower until I realized I had just built myself a subconscious apartment in the Alexandria, coveting the one Jon Gosselin has. And the dog pee? I'd been watching too many episodes of Kendra. Sometimes things have no meaning and you have to roll with that too.

I liked that fence post, I liked the way the farmer left the branches. I'm sure he didn't mean to be artsy, some cow probably broke the fence and he didn't have a saw in his truck. It kind of relates to my whole post, which is, accepting that not every little thing has meaning, but, you can still enjoy it.

Tell me your latest dream. That should make for good reading and everyone can jump in with interpretations.

I rarely remember my dreams DD, but the last one I can recall was very vivid and very real. It was nothing but snakes, and they were everywhere!
I've always heard that snakes mean someone is going to die or someone is going to be born. In fact, three years ago, I had a dream about snakes (not like this one) and a couple of days later, my Father did die.
So far this time, no one has died.

I always dream I'm floating in the ocean on a big leaf. The moon is always full and I just lay there and bob around with the waves.

I always figure I dream this because I live by the ocean and love it more than chocolate.

I'd love to hear if anyone else knows what it means.

Snakes mean re-birth. They are a womans symbol of great changes and new life. I think you had a vision, but, it was trying to give you comfort.

Nina, the water nymph. Totally apropo, for you. I love it.

recently i had probably the worst dream ever. i was driving on a rainy day with my 12 year old daughter in the front and my 8 year old in the back. we swerved for some reason and the car started rolling and i looked over at my my 12 year old and said i love you and grabbed her hand. i remember the look of terror on her face right before i woke up. i woke up shaking, heart poundung, crying. went in the lay in bed with my daughter. worst ever. I'm emotional just remembering.

Awww, that sounds like a good thing then! I need to go google water nymphs. I remember hearing the term in a mythology class back in the day but I need to go dig up what they are and what they signify. Maybe you can add some thoughts.

I have always had dreams that I am flying. No airplane, just me. They are few and far between now, but I dreamed of this a lot as a kid. I assumed it was real for the longest time; up until my early teens. Still, how does a 2 or 3 year old know what their house and yard looks like from such an angle?? The roof, the tops of trees. I've always wanted to know what this means.

A post about a post! Good one!
I dreamed my daughter sent her bf a text pic of a girl with very long beautiful hair and said that she wants to grow her hair that long. He texted back "You must, Smitty Smitty Bang Bang"

WTF? Ridiculous.

Dear Cut...I used to dream that I could fly. Everynight. At the time I was totally absorbed in Supergirl. We had found about a million old Super Hero comics in the attic of the house we had just moved into. We read them all.

So glad you asked that!! lol. I've been having the most dumb dreams lately. Three nights ago it was vampires ( I woke up with the red spots on my neck...), night before last it was ghosts and not the friendly kind and last night it was Zombies. I'm not reading scary books or watching scary movies. I think I need an ambien.

gosh I don't remember my last dream. But I have had some interesting ones. I once dreamed I was pregnant, VERY pregnant, a couple of months after I got married. I was happy rubbing my belly. That following day we received a check for 10k from my husband's dad who lives in Paris, as a wedding gift. I found out that dreaming of one's pregnancy meant that a great monetary gift was about to be received. I was blown away.

I sleep like a log, never remember dreams.
My neighbor retired about 25 years ago and has had the same dream, EVERY NIGHT, since. He says he doesn't sleep, he goes to work, I thought that was really weird.

Sometimes, dreams are just dreams but sometimes, they're communications from our subconscious. You can cultivate and learn to understand them by keeping a dream journal. It's fascinating to learn your own private interior symbol-language. Writing down, analysing or even and pondering your dreams helps polish your connection to your intuition. Sometimes to a very high shine.

Sometimes the dreams will be precognitive, that just seems to be how it is. And scary. This one was the corker for me: At 5:15 am on 9/11/01, I woke from a very bad dream about a terrible catastrophe in the US that shook the world. It involved the ruin of huge buildings with many dead. Only the very deep basements of the buildings were left, and there were police and military people stopping others from seeing what went on there.

Anyway I wrote it down and managed to doze off again. I then got up at my usual time, got the kids off to school around 8:45 am and then -we all know what happened. I forgot about the damn dream all through the events of that day, until bedtime when I read the entry. It scared me so bad, that was the last time I wrote a dream down for years.

Last night I dreamed there was a vintage green glass light fixture in my kitchen and rain was leaking in all around it. I kept thinking, WTF? We just replaced the roof. Then I heard a vpice whispering something about midnight over my baby's monitor.

Right after that the baby woke up crying and woke me up. Thank god it was well after midnight...I have heard the whisper all day and am glad my husband will be home tonight.

Valle, assuming you don't have precognitive dreams, your dream was so easy for me to figure out. Every mother feels like they lose their child for awhile when the child enters puberty. You were spinning out of control, it was your older child's hand you took, she was terrified. You made sure you told her you love her, no matter the outcome. She's growing up and you're both scared. I don't blame you. You must be a good mom to tap into things like that while you're sleeping.

7:03:00, me too. Only I was awake. I was so upset with the visions I had to call people to be with me.

Dirty Disher said...

Meissa, that's cool! I didn't know pregnancy dreams meant that.

Dirty Disher said...

Cut On The Diagonal..you might have had an out of body experience. I totally believe some people can do that.

Dirty Disher said...

Daphne, I have no clue unless your subconsious is trying to tell you you've had a parnormal experience and it's trying to sort it out.

Dirty Disher said...

Ssmith28, that is the most frightening thing I've heard in ages. Is your house old? Could there have been a green fixture there at one time? I think I'd move the baby's crib to my room for awhile. Not kidding.

Ssmith28: Leaking water in dreams sometimes means a desire for change; or signals an unconscious *need* for change; or it could be a sign that something you're doing/thinking is futile - it "won't hold water".

The vintage green glass fixture is interesting too since the water surrounded it. What kind of feeling did that evoke in you? Think about what vintage (old things sometimes represent our fear of ageing but not necessarily) means to you personally. Also the colour green, maybe there's a connection somewhere in there.

The whispering part of the dream sounds like a basic anxiety-type dream. Those are common and often show up with other unrelated dream fragments. They are freaking scary and stay with you for a while sometimes.

Last night I dreamed I was very angry. I can't remember specifically who or what I was angry with, just a lot of different things/people. I've been a bit on edge all day today because of it.
It was probably just me peeking at the repressed anger.

DD, yeah I didn't know what the pregnancy dream meant either until my mom read the dream dictionary to me over the phone...everytime I have a peculiar dream I call her to chat about it.

One of my aunts had a dream of a plane crashing and being all over the news, the next day the Air Egypt tragedy happened. A friend of hers dreamed of a big wedding, similar to royalty wedding, the whole town was invited and the bride and groom go out and parade on the street saluting the crowd, but the newlyweds were faceless. Well, the next day our President at that time died on a plane crash along with his wife, and as is customary in my country, the coffins were being held by the people while transporting them to the funeral home. This was I think in 1980.

Thank you, DD.

The house that we live is not very old at all, but my boyfriends son swears he has seen a ghost in his fathers bed. (He thought it was me waving to him one morning, but I had been gone for hours.) We're constantly hearing noises, door shutting, footsteps on the stairs. They've been gone all week, I'll be glad when they get back. :)

I had this dream lastnight/early morning...Anyone want to intrepret.

I was in a shop requesting my hair to be cut, there were 2 people (men)in the shop to cut hair (my hair is short) One gentleman asked how I want my hair I told him trim it up and as he was cutting my hair was getting longer, the other guy asked if I wanted anything to drink showing me a see through brownish cup with ice water in it I said sure and took the glass which turned into coffee with a lot of creamer in it, I placed the cup down and the guy who offered the water turned coffee kept sticking his finger in it stirring it and each time he did that it went back to ice water, he pulled the finger out and it was coffee again with ice.

I don't know...does anyone have any ideas or am I just "Whacko"

Dreams of having your hair cut and having it grow long are about sexuality. Since there were men in your dream, I'd say you are trying to take your sexuality back. Not letting them control you. The finger stirring of the drink is personal meddling and almost spell casting. I'm no dream expert, but, that's what I got. You're pissed at a man for not listening to you.

You my friend are simply incredible and here is why..My sister moved from Utah to help me out, my ex has been helping me but I feel bad about always depending on him not that he minds at all and he is GREAT with Shay, but still this gives him a chance to get out and meet people or whatever, anyways my sister and her son got here in April and in June her "friend" came from California and he hasn't left she works a part time job, and lucky me am paying 90% of the bills my ex moved in with me to help me out as much as he could with bills also...My sisters "friend" lays up in the room when she is at work, I don't like him, I want him gone, he is just to stressful he snips at Dak and I have yelled back with comments like "I would say something but who am I but the person who pays the bills around here"...I have issues with sponges and not brave enough yet to say anything to my sister because I really need her help.

I had a dream about a month ago about my best friend being pregnant. I told her about it and she told me she had been sick but she wasn't pregnant. A couple of days later I find out that my niece is pregnant.

Last night I had a dream that had a friend in it and something was wrong. I sent that friend an IM this morning and he said that everything was good with him. I got on Facebook to find out that another friend posted that her son was in the hospital with Spinal Menegitis.

I guess I am getting wires crossed somewhere in my dreams and the wrong person is coming through.

I do somethimes have some really weird dreams. I have had several about the friend I dreamed about last night where he goes to ask me a question, but I always wake up before he can ask me.
