The Puple Cones are doing their thing heavy now. They look like they float all over the beds. They've sprung up in the back of my house too. And the Rudbeckia is starting up. That's such a nice plant, very well behaved for a wild flower. If mom would stop "weeding" the whole yard would be full of them. She can't tell a ragweed from a Galardia, but, we have plenty as it is. She usually tires herself out before she can do any real damage.

Jesus Christ, DD. For weeks and weeks I have been clicking on your site and thinking...how big is THIS garden? Ever time I click, there is more. I know your yard cannot be all that big, but every time I see something new, I think-- wow.
Big and luscious.
P.S. For anyone who is wondering about spell check on blogs...I started using Mozilla Firefox.
Problem solved.
It's pretty big and it runs into moms, which is big. So, I have several flower beds and several garden spots. I'm gonna make it BIGGER next year. My cousin Joey was over today and he said he couldn't believe the way it's grown (he helped me till a little spot in the back and I did the rest with a shovel) so he said he'd really till next year. OMG, I can put in all kinds of new stuff.
It's huge and beautiful! A LOT of work to get it there but sooo worth it!
I come in here on my dreary, New England days and just imagine I am strolling through the posies and veggies. It helps!
I love the purple coneflowers!!!
I am with you Nina. My garden really stinks this year. Taking forever to flowers to bloom.
I think I will just look at Pat`s garden and pretend.
I have one sad purple cone flower coming up. The rest have not even bloomed yet.
i think my garden is a wash this year...oh things grew---my perennials...and i have veggies in pots...but i haven't had time to devote to weeding, etc...
i shall try again next year! :D
I have no idea why mine came out so good. Past digging and planting, I don't work in it a lot.
