There's a story going around that Paris Jackson was throwing a fit right before her speach at her father's funeral and didn't want to speak. She was supposedly crying and in hysterics. That could be true. The family could have asked her if she wanted to speak and she screamed no and then 5 min later changed her mind. Grief is a weird thing. That capacity of grief knows no rules. And children have a real hard time with it because they have no idea how to handle the magnitude of it. Adults don't really either, but, children have an extra hard time because of their attention spans and their ability to "go somewhere else" in their minds.*
I know when we had Eric's viewing and funeral, I thought it was important that Lissa go. I didn't take her into the room where he was in his coffin, but, you could see it from a distance. She avoided looking in the room where he was. The whole family kept her beside us, talking to her, saying comforting things..but, at one point she did look and she broke down screaming "That's not my daddy!" She crawled under a chair and was sobbing, snot running, she wouldn't come out. She got very violent. I got down under there with her and said "I'm so sick of this place, I want a cheeseburger." She said "Yeah!" I remember her saying "Dawma, let's leave this awful, awful place." And she came out and she and I left. On the way out the door she was all happy and talking about a happy meal and a toy. The next day we had the funeral and she was fine, just sad at times. She sat and watched all her daddy's films that they played. She colored in a tablet I'd brought for her. At home she'd be happy and playing one minute and clutching her dads picture and sobbing the next. Her grief was so great she'd fall to the floor in anguish, yet five min later she'd be giggling and playing. I don't know how kids handle grief, their mind seems to protect them when they've had enough.

So, I think these stories about Paris Jackson are probably true, but, arm chair psychiatrists are making more out of it and should leave the kid alone. There's no doubt in my mind that the child wanted to say something about her daddy..once her mind accepted for a moment, that he was gone. I don't know about the rest of the Jackson's, but, I don't think Janet is crazy enough to force the kid onstage. Funerals are just an insane time, emotions are high and no one really knows how to handle them when the deceased is someone close. What in the world could even come close to the grief of a little child who has lost a parent?

Gorgeous kids and he couldnt have planned that! Miko Brando said that he firmly believes Blanket is MJ's bio child. He looks like MJ. Obviously had a white mother. Looks like MJ tho! I believe Miko. & he should know! Having been thought to be the daddy & absolutely denying it. The derm Doc said MJ had already had his children in film school? Those are some gifted children. We will be seeing them when they are older, sucessful in their own right. I have especially high hopes for Prince Michael I. The oldest son. He seems totally aware of the gift he was given by having MJ as his father. He will not waste it.
To me, it doesn't matter. MJ was their father..no one else raised them. That's all there is to it. I don't care about DNA.
I met Chandler once. He's a good guy too. Thats his name. Chandler.
When Chandler talks about his dad you'd think he was describing Joe Jackson. Weird.
I agree that kids handle things in their own way, but they did have a private service too, and I wonder why they would let her do this in front of the world knowing that it would be picked apart by everyone, especially when he did try to protect them from the publc as he did....sb
Chandler? WTF?
I think it's kind of sick that people are picking apart this child's grief...asking if it is real or staged. That makes me sad. Like you said DD, children have a crazy way of expressing sadness and I don't think there is a book out there describing how one should act when losing a parent. I don't think the speech was an act, I don't think the family set this child up, I think it was one little girl's decision to say goodbye to her father. That is what I'd like to believe!
I'm with DD...WTH...Chandler?
I think if they would have kept the kids out of the public memorial some would have still speculated and condemned the choice.
Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
When I saw that sweet little girl say that he was the best daddy in the world...I believed her. I think she spoke from her heart.
thats why it's called a Happy Meal!
Chandler.
Gifted $24 million by MJ.
Then his dad the dentist retired and when on a spending spree.
Chandler is a shaper. A surfboard shaper in Hawaii. He mentors Turtle who works in his shape-shop. Chandler, Chandler...yah, so bag it Barn-o. Just bag-it.
If anybody knows what I just referred to plz tell me! Very obscure 80's movie. Great one tho.
Mouth hanging open here. W----------T----------F.
Yesterday's theme was blog bitchiness and today random insanity seems to be on the dockett...Full Moon?
I'm sorry but that whole bit with the girl was a set-up. It was postmortem image rehab and it was slimy. It was a final act of child exploitation on behalf of Michael Jackson. I don't think he would have approved, given how hard he tried to keep his kids out of the public eye. The whole thing gave me the willies at the time and it still does.
Good comment, crabs. I don't think he would have approved either, but, he's gone. Things will change now. I just feel so bad for the kids, it breaks my heart.
Nina..I don't know, but, that was really weird. More weird than usual on here.
OMFG! Girls! That was me!!! So, nobody knows who Chandler is? I was just giving you some sh** about the earlier Chandler comment. It reminded me of this old movie about surfing. Hey, its Friday. Who cares? I laughed sooo GD hard when I read DD & Nina's comments about the random sh** posted. It was well worth it today. You guys are the best. I love you! Thanks for the insane laughter! Great! Damn that was some good moments there. Pats mouth hanging open, Nina can't figure out WTH is going on here. I love it!
Roxanne
Why Anon R U Still Sock Puppeting Me?
I stand by my statement. Was Paris Manipulated? Was Chandler?
And if YES....Did the adults do it for MONEY? Most likely. I don't know. Just threw it out there.
Pat you got my IM you know who I am.
Funny thing about Chandler now that I think about it. As an adult he's more angry with his dad then he is with MJ....Just sayin.
Roxanne..glad YOU can laugh. The sock puppets drive me to take pills.
What's an IM? If you mean IP..no I don't. I don't play that. I don't care, man, sign yer name or don;t. I have maters to pick.
The only reason I like for people to stick with one name on here is because it helps me keep straigh who I'm talking to.
Roxanne....rofl...I like random insanity way better than pointless bitchiness. Glad you got a giggle out of it!
bye-bye LOL: You are crazy. Period. Just sayin'...
PS: I already told who who Chandler is. Duh! he is not mad at his father. Go put your sock puppet on your di** and enjoy!
I didn't watch that and I don't intend to look for that clip. It's sad that now that MJ is dead it has become open season for the media to be all over those kids, regardless of whatever truth is behind that speech.
look quit picking on me!
next time i post i won't drink and do drugs first. gawd you guys are mean today. you prob all have your periods are something.
NOOOO! We dont have periods. We are menopausal bitches. So you better watch your back!

::closing door atn leaving for now becaues your all rudes::
I said at the time on crabbies blog that if the girl wanted to make a tribute fair enough but the way they all scrambled to make sure the mike was in her face so that everyone could hear what she said seems desperate & contrived & gave me the heebies.
LOL at LOL.
Bubs..I think all the Jacksons are heebie inducing. Except his kids.
I completely agree with crabbie. I thought the same thing, I did not see one tear on that childs face and the words were strange.
It reminded me of the boy from the vids with Michael years back, he was told what to say, what to do...like hold Michaels hand and say how wonderful he was.
Just creepy for sure, Jermaine Jacksons song is what got to me
I could not cry at my sons funeral. I'm sure people thought that was strange. I felt numb. No tears. You can not measure someone's grief by what you see.
I personally don't think they should have had the children speak, but that's just me. I lost my father when I was 12 years old and it was very difficult. I went from being happy to sobbing on his casket and having to be pulled away when it was time to leave.
I'm just afraid that getting up infront of millions of people could add to the traumatic event for the child. It turned out to be such a spectacle that I hope they weren't parading the kids out for the masses. It bothers me that Joe Jackson is already talking about the kids being actors or musicians or something. Someone just needs to give him a restraining order so he can't screw up any more kids.
I agree that I'd hope Janet would at least be sensible in terms of what the children want. I think she should become the guardian.
Anon 2:26- The movie "North Shore"? Is that what you're going for? Thought at 1st "Point Break", but know don't think so
Roxanne-You were joking? I used my limited number of remaining brain cells to help you & it was a joke! Thanks a lot cow!!
Roxanne- Only joking! Loved your joke & Nina & Pat's confusion made me love it more!!! You mad cool!
Grief is definitely different for everybody. I agree that it probably wasn't the best idea to have the poor girl speak publicly, but I also feel that she is old enough to have said no if she really didn't want to. I think she did it to let the world know how much she truly loved her father. It was heart wrenching to see her break down. I wish those kids the best..I hope the Jackson's don't mess them up like they did MJ.
DD, How is Lissa these days when you speak about Eric? Does she know or understand the concept of death? I wouldn't be surprised if she sensed his presence around her. She's a special girl.
Not an original observation but I'll make it anyway: How great a father could MJ have been when he was taking 30-40 Xanax a night?
Lissa says she talks to her dad. I sonse him sometimes when she's here.
Crabbie, I think it depends on the person. Some people are used to meds and need them. Those kinds of meds affect people differently, some people need them to be normal.
