Storming in the garden

A thunderstorm is pounding us here, and I made bean picking an excuse to go out in it. Hey, I need some beans with dinner! Really, I just love the garden in the rain and I always find a reason I have to be out during a storm. Look at that lettuce! I have never seen lettuce that beautiful in July. The wind is really reaming the poor corn and sunflowers, but, they'll recover. We had one late spring storm that flattened a lot of my corn, but, I just used compost hunks to prop it back up and it's fine now.

I stuck some of Lissa's whirly gigs in the tomato's because the blue jays keep stealing the cherry tomatos. They carry them off and fight over them. Greedy birds. Did you know blue jays love tomatos? Me either, but, I see them doing it all the time now.

That purple Impatient was in the store's trash can three weeks ago. It was deader than dead. I took it for the pot, for next year, but, I was watering everything else and I watered that and look! I guess you should never underestimate a plant's survival qualities.

I have my door open and I'm sitting here loving the rain, but, Mom is on her porch screaming for all the cats to come in. Like they're going to melt. Calling them all by name..there's like 15 of them! Shut the F up already. She's harshing my rain buzz. Gawd. Oh, more rain, storm is growing. I love it. BTW, spell check doesn't know how you spell tomato/tomatoe either. I'm getting my umbrella and going back out now. See yaz.

I have tiny feet. It's annoying, I shop in the kids shoe section. Yeah, my feet are in a lot of photos, I use them to indicate the size of other things. I do it without thinking about it.

Yes, 4:35:00, I would be sad if she wasn;t around to fuck with me. But, does she have to do it every day?

Mint of some sort in that pot? I used to grow about 10 dif mints. Never ever plant them in the ground. It will take over. I had chocolate, lemon, pineapple and many others. I got rid of most of it sadly, when I was pissed at it. I still have a few survivors. No chocolate tho! I am gonna start some new mints in pots and some herbs as well. I use tons of herbs in cooking but forgot to use them when I grew them outside. I'd grab my bottle from the cupboard. How dumb! I am gonna go home & snip some chives, I still have gobs of them.

I am sick of the rain. That is all it does here in N.E. now.

It was so cold last night it felt like mid September. Slept really good.

That one is Pinneapple Sage. I have some chocolate mint too.

Heidi, I never get tired of the rain. It makes me feel alive. The sun sucks my energy and I hate it.

I am soooooooooooo jealous of your garden! I wish I could give you some money and come take some produce off of your hands! Everytime I come here I get so hungry looking at the pictures of what you've grown!

We don't have the room for such a fantastic garden, unfortunately. One of the many, many reasons I am dying to move! :)

String 4 if you were here I'd give you sacks full for free.

Corina, that made me laugh. Umbrella's are fun! I just love it out in the rain. I get soaked and keep on puttering. I know lightening is dangerous, but, somehow I know it will never get me. I like your name. How did you get it?
