Turnips and people

I thinned the Turnips again and they're good sized now. I gave these to Mom to cook for her and Aunt Ruth. They're the ones I planted the things for, I can take or leave Turnips. But, they had to be thinned again. My Aunt started bitching because she says I picked them at the wrong time and they wouldn't be any good and I don't know what the hell I'm doing...and on and on. She makes me laugh. Mom cooked them and Aunt Ruth ate almost the whole pot. Go figure. I can never get mad at that Aunt, she just makes me laugh. I don't know why. She pisses everyone else off.
*
I took Mom to the store yesterday and she behaved herself and didn't make me wait in the hot car. I even bought ice and it wasn't melted. There's a small chance she's trying to be a better person to me. I'm not going to get sucked in right away, I'm still cautious, but, everything is better right now.
*
There was this little girl in the store and no one was watching her, she kept following me. I wasn't paying a lot of attention to her, I just wanted to get the things I'd come for, but, she caught me at the check out line and she pulled on my shirt and asked "Are you the witch?" It was so cute. I said, I'm Pat and who are you? She told me and I said "Well, you're a little Scorpio!" That was when her mother grabbed her and about jerked her arm off getting her away from the bad town witch who knows things she shouldn't. The mother was shocked, I could tell. She actually gasped when I told her kid I knew she was a Scorpio. If she hadn't acted like such an ass, I would have told her I spotted the sparkly Topaz earrings the girl had on. Six year olds don't usually choose Topaz...unless they're Scorpio's. I'm a Scorpio too. People are so dull around here sometimes.

Just goes to show how close minded people can be. Her Mom is working to make sure that kid grows up with a closed mind as well, not to mention trust issues. I'm so sure; the lady was right there, and no chance you're going to grab the kid and run away with her. Geez. I would have thought of this little exchange as very charming. When my son was little he was very friendly and it scared me. He was not allowed to run around the store by himself. When we would be in the check out line, he would try to talk to whom ever was behind/in front of us. I would always get pissed when assholes ignored him. How can you ignore a little kid when they are talking to you? That little girl was curious about you, and had the balls to ask you to your face. More than most adults. Your talking to her probably made her see that you're not so bad. . .until her mom came into the picture. . .
Sorry for the long post; this bugged me.

Topaz is my birthstone ,too, although I am a Sag. I would have never chosen that particular stone, though. Just never appealed to me.

Never be sorry for a long post. I read them all and love it. That's why we're here. I have this weird religous group in town that protests me and sends me crap. They call me in the middle of the night, do drive bys and throw trash in my yard. They're really weird. They went to the twon council to stop me from reading cards, but, they didn't get anywhere since I do bring people and revenue into this tiny shit hole town. They're just miserable people.

Dirty Disher said...

I love Topaz. And Citrine's and Fire Opal, anything in the warm color range.

Heidi said...

Mean people suck!

My birthstone is garnet. I never liked it. I wear a big old honking Amber ring. Too bad it does not have a bug in it. I would be a rich woman.

Dirty Disher said...

I love Garnets, they're so deep. They feel warm and mysterious. Does anyone else feel stones? I do all the time and I have stones I carry with me.

Dirty Disher said...

Amber kind of freaks me out. It's beautiful, but, it's so organic. I don't think it's a stone. I mean, I know it is, technically, but, it doesn't feel like stone. It feels alive, but, sleeping.

Dirty Disher said...

I could have really freaked that woman out if I'd told her what I really "got." LMAO!

Hi DD;)
I find it fascinating that you are a witch
Wow ! I thot you were great now I am
indeed honoured to know you DD ; )
I think you are so kool Pat. Yesterday when
you stated that you will be there for your
lil gd Lissa and let he have a voice I commend
u for that. I grew up with a great dad :)
howsomever my mom was controlling and
manipulative and yelled and hit all four of us
girls on a daily basis. I being the eldest daughter
bore the brunt of it and took the wrap for my 3
younger sisters N it shows to this day. Mom hid
alot of money from dad and gave him weekly
allowance. Even though still dad never hit us
And he was always there for us he now cares
for her even tho he's 77 and a decade older than her.
Pat what I'm trying to say is that even though
I didnot have the best childhood my dad made
it and the memories happy& that I do not have
to be like her I chose to be like him and my boys are
well adjusted. It doesn't matter where we came it's where
we are going and we have a choice to be our
best and break the cycle of hurt with kindness.
I'm so happy to have found your blog I must
say it again DD thanks for your story I find it
fascinating that you are a witch WOW! Kiki =D

Kiki, your boys will be wonderful men. They have someone like you as a mom.

Witch is just a word people use when they don't understand what I do. I am not the only witch around here, there are many. I'm just the only one who's "out."

Dirty Disher said...

And it's very hard to be "out" around here, but, I am what I am, and they can go suck it.

Have you been psychic/ intuitive your whole life? Even as a child? If so do you have any cool/ funny stories from your childhood that you could share with us? Elizabeth

Reply
thank you DD Ive worked the night shift for
26 years since they were born to be able to
be a sahm and care for them and they realize
the sacrafices it takes to choose to be both
a sahm during the day and go out at night
to work and have a fulfilling medical carreer too.
As parents we do what we must to put our
children above all else first and to this day my
kids don't even feel that I'm away because
I m working while they sleep they always
have me available at home during the day
like a traditional sahm. My youngest son is
only 18 but is still amazed and is my biggest fan.
I like the word witch it's magical !

Yes, Elizabeth, all my life. I have stories and I will share.

Kiki, that's amazing and I know how hard that is. Kids are a full time job and then you have to work too. It's rough.

and i bet those people who do those things to you profess to be 'christian'!

when i was a kid i got teased at school for being a witch because that movie escape from witch mountain was out and one of the characters was named tia....i would pretend to put curses on them and that would shut them up...

one time i told someone they'd grow up to be really fat and lonely and i was right! :P

Dirty Disher said...

LMAO Tia. I think of you as a good witch. If you aren't a witch, you fooled me.

DD;
I can't believe they throw trash in your yard, call you, etc. It's childish and ignorant. I think of all the people that you help, both with your blog and in real life, and I don't understand how they can be so shitty to you. I wished you lived here. But, I would steal your tomatoes!!!!

not that I am a turnip lover but one of you smart people are just going to have to interpret my dream on the fencepost post before I think you are all after me and making me crazy....Thank you..Connie

nature witch might be apropos...not into spells with words, etc...i think you just need to direct energy....that's just my own theory....

and i think most things should be done for good, but sometimes ya gotta deal with the evil!

What you just posted about the little girl coming to you and later yanked by her mom, reminded me of an episode of Wifeswap featuring bellydancer/musician Jehan Kamal's family and a farmer wife from the Midwest. Jehan has a daughter, and she has raised her to honor every religion/belief, then when she is ready she will decide what to follow, and this adorable girl had an altar where she paid respects to everyone's beliefs. She had a ton of fairy art in her bedroom, and was allowed to scribble her thoughts on her bedroom walls. Well long story short, the Christian wife from the Midwest made her clean up the walls, and get rid of the fairies and the religious icons that were not christian, and insulted the girls mother by belittling the fact that she was teaching the kid to be tolerant. It was heartbreaking to see the girl stripped of all her thoughts and beliefs and her life in a second, I was bawling myself when I saw that happened. Well by the end of the show the farmer wife had to try bellydancing. Apparently she enjoyed it. Hopefully she understood the little girl's point of view after the show.

Tia, that's all it is..directing energy.

Connie, I'm going to the dream post right now.

Meissa, isn't that shit sad? People are so awful.

I am a Scorpio also. I have always thought there was something magical about it. I don't know if it's associated with the sign (you tell me) but I think Scorps are more open minded than most ppl.

I wish I lived near you. I would love it if you talked to my son. I wouldn't mind a reading either. :) That mother is obviously close minded as unfortunately the whole town sounds. People are afraid of what they don't understand.

Amber IS alive but sleeping, exactly! I have some pieces. One with a bee and one with a spider. I love rocks. I have so many from all over the world. They're like 'snapshots' in geological time. I like the weight of them in my hands and the smell if they haven't been prolished. Don't even get me started...they're just so miraculous in a way. So much beauty from extreme conditions of upheaval.

Topaz is awesome.

Am I the only Capricorn here? Winter baby through and through.

Well I'm a Taurus and am constantly mistaken for a Scropio, weird but true. My stone is Emerald and I love it... don't like diamonds, think they are cold and heartless... also like garnet, I have some beautiful OLD OLD earings and ring with garnet.

Pat,

You would love padparascha (sp?) sapphires, they are clear, bright orange. I have earrings with them and they make me happy every time I wear them. I just read your five things posts and see your fave color is orange also.

Ohhh nice, coffee.

Amber and Opal are my favorite stones, just love them. My daughter is a Scorpio. Since you have powers beyond mine, I ask you send a healing charm my way. I'd really love to feel better. I've had bronchitis now for two weeks, on top of the other stuff that already bugged me....I would love to feel energetic to stay on top of the countless chores. Yep, is that a lot to ask? I plead with my body everyday, it responds with nausea and gas...go figure.
