Worlds best air freshener

I'm a freak for scented things, I buy them all. Plug ins, oil pots, sprays, incense, candles, you name it, I buy it. I love the house to smell good. I don't do it for anyone, but, me. I enjoy it, it makes me happy. The other day I thought, what's my favorite scent right now? Rosemary. So I took a big sprig of it and taped it over my computer where I sit. It's really nice and I can tap it or rub it and make it pop. The scent is heavenly. I also love that Glade grapefruit spray. That stuff smells so clean. But, my herbs smell better and they're free. I need to dust again. Didn't I just do that? Iowa is so full of corn pollen right now, no one can breath right. Everyone's complaining about it. I can't keep the dust out. Oh, well, at least it smells good in here.

I LOVE rosemary. Love the smell. Love the taste. Love the way it looks. When I was little I called it christmas tree branches, and was utterly perplexed when I saw my Grandma putting some in with a roast. LOL. But now? I'd cook it in just about everything if I could. Chicken. Pork Tenderloin. Crown Roast. I made a from scratch lamb ravioli with rosemary cream sauce once and it was fan-freaking-tastic.

Chicken marinated in balsamic vinegar, orange and rosemary, and either baked or grilled on the cast iron griddle. YUM!

Yep, I'm into that good smelling shit. Used to love Yankee, but, it's too expensive. Paula Dean has a candle at Walmart, and for around 3 bucks, you cannot tell the difference between Yankee.

My problem is fucking bugs. In Ohio we didn't have these exoskeleton huge fuckers. Gawd. They invade the garage and you can here their bodies walking across the floor. Makes aromatherapy a mute point.

I used to burn toast when I was trying to hide a smell--must be that Ricky and his trailer park boys giving me ideas.

shmedelle, it's bug time in Iowa too. I went and bought the sevin insecticide granuals in the big bag and I sprinkle them around the outside of the house. It really helps. I'll bet it would work in you garage. I hate bugs.

Corina...Yankee! yay! But wow, the got expensive. I used to buy them by the bucketful. Cant afford them anymore, only for special occasions. They have so many unusal fragrances now too.

schmeddle: You live in Texas or sumthin'? I lived by the gulf in Corpus for 10 years. I used to hear those bastards running thru my pan cabinet! they actually left turds like mouse turds. The monthly Orkin guy was a joke. A waste of our money. We figured it out & sealed off the enrances. Those effers just cannot be killed.

OMG. What the hell are they? It sounds like my worst nightmare.

This is such a great idea. Any really good smell can just change your entire outlook. I have heard Rosemary really helps for headaches too.

Roxanne, are you talking about roaches? Roaches grow inmune to poison. Your best bet is pour boiling water where they are. That's how my mom and I got rid of them in our apartment, by making them into soup. When I started I stayed up till 2 am pouring boiling water in all my kitchen cabinets. It took us about two months to rid them all, and the eggs die too. It was a nasty process, but it worked. Same with those nasty brown crickets. The advantage of boiling water is that it won't make your pet sick from poison if accidentally stepped on.
