One of the most interesting paranormal accounts in history is the creation of Philip. There are some people who think ghosts and the paranormal are caused in the minds of humans, that they can ,in effect, produce phenomenas. This is paranormal in itself, if you ask me, but, anyhow, a group of researchers set out to create a ghost, they gave him a name, Philip Aylesford and they gave him a story and a face. Then they tried to contact him. The results were amazing and they are documented. Philip could tap tables to communicate, turn lights on an off on command and even levitate objects. There's film of the table dancing HERE. I've witnessed the table tapping and dancing effect myself and it's quite amusing and I think any group of people can do it if they're willing to meet and practice. You can read the story of Philip HERE, it's worth a look if you're interested in the paranormal, and I believe it's true.*
So, some people think this experiment proves there are no real ghosts, but, that makes me laugh. All they did was create a Fetch. People who practice magic know all about Fetches. They are a spirit you create for a purpose and in my opinion, they are real. Maybe you don't really create it so much as call in something willing to do your bidding. What ever Fetches are, they didn't seem to exist before someone thought them up. The problem with Fetches is they can become unpredictable and dangerous. You can come up with your own opinion on the reality of Fetches...and the usefulness of them. I doesn't matter to me what anyone else believes, for me, personally, I have met them. Some witches keep them in bottles. It's funny, isn't it? Until someone, some skeptic, opens the bottle. ~grins~ Something to think about, eh?

Definitely think it is more likely that they are called rather than created. I am painfully aware that spirits exist. Don't mind them so much except for when they keep me up at night. That pisses me off.
I wouldn't want to invite a spirit to assume into something like that. I think it's dangerous. Not something you want to try at home.
Absolutely believe in spirits and would have no intentions whatsoever to conjure one up for the "fun of it"
pat, my bestfriend called me last week and told me of a horrible dream she has had for years, and this is the first time she shared it with me! i told her what i knew of the paranormal, spirits, evil, and so forth but i thought maybe she could email you, I will let her decide if she wants to but at least i pointed her to you, for some insight. she has a dream that does not feel like a dream, she is being penetrated, in the sexual way, by a faceless entity and she believes it is the devil and she has been able to fight him off for years, he never really penetrated just tried and last week she could not fight him off and he did! she felt horrible afterward, scared, and defeated, so she called me to talk. i todl her what i thought it could be, maybe a traumatic experience in her childhood that causes her to have this repetive dream and that recently something must have happened to lead to this new dream where she gave in but if there was nothing traumatic in her youth, that she can remember then i told her it coudl be a paranormal event, related to a place she is living in or to some entity that follows her? she is muslim, from
egypt, i am a catholic, a believer, i have strong faith, and have had my own "events" in my life that lead me to belive in the paranormal and in God. at the end we both decided if all else fails she should look up some muslim prayers to ward off evil, satan, and that worked, she slept good that night...but what do you think of that "dream"?

I love anything paranormal and will watch and read anything about it. I want there to be an after =life so bad--maybe not for me, but for the ones I love. I can not stand the thought that my parents are just dust.
But I have never heard the term "Fetch" before. Or maybe I did and it just didn't register! Maybe one of your stories can explain a Fetch to us in detail!! I can't wait.
I think there are plenty of evil spirits out there that are willing to play any part you present them with just to take advantage of the opportunity. If you throw the bone they will fetch it.
"Without the dead there is no peace at home". I heard that growing up and still hear it whenever I visit my very old Cuban nanny. She routinely prayed her Yoruba prayers to her ancestor and left food in certain parts of the house to keep them happy. She is a Santera.
She talks about summoning spirits she calls "prendas" to do what you described as "fetches". Very real and powerful cleanses and ceremonies with drums and flowers and lots of singing.
You need a night-light Mitch!, works for my brother.
Ali I think your friend has serious problems that I fear will not be addressed by her Imam at the local mosque. Does she have these dreams at the same time every night it happens?.
Wow, good topic.
jarhead
Ali, there is also a paranormal event on record where a woman was repeatedly raped by an entitiy. The book and movie is called The Entity...but, it is based on a true story and there was real documentation on it. It's not as unusual as people think.
This is really interesting. I believe that the mind can make things happen, like a poltergeist. I also believe in ghosts though and it's interesting where the line gets drawn.
Ali, you friend needs to talk to someone and get help. Regardless of the cause, she is suffering.
In know this very un-PC of me to say, especially since she's muslim, but I think your friend should say a prayer to God to guard her heart and spitrit from evil, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Also, it could be something traumatic that happened during childhood that she blocked out, and now her brain is trying to remember.
Or, there is a syndrome, sort of like tourettes of the brain, where your mind obsesses over something that you seem to have no control over. In that case a psychiatrist could be called for - but not a strict sort of muslim or a nouveau liberal.
I wonder if I could get a nice one to help do the house chores???
