The thing that looks like an egg made of rubber bands is just a piece of paper. Someone (don't ask me who) cut out an image from a magazine or something and it was just laying there on the counter. You can't see it in the photo but rolling somewhere on that counter is a softball-sized ball made entirely of rubber band. It's really old and the rubber bands disintegrate whenever you try to touch the damn thing.
FYI. The cucumber sat there for a few days until it started getting mushy, then it got pitched. I think there's something wrong with trying make a vegetable keep forever... maybe if it was shaped like Jesus or something.
