Daphne's vacation

This was taken on a recent camping trip in Virginia. Isn't that stunning? I wonder if you can walk across the top? Thanks, Daphne.

The top is actually a paved road for cars now, and at night time they have a light show that is awesome. It reminded me of the old bugs bunny cartoon where he is doing a play with all the lightning and rain...if anyone else knows what I'm talking about, I'll be surprised. lol. We had a great time and even went down in the caverns. My legs hurt for days from all the walking, but it was very worth it!

That's what I thought too! Old cartoons and westerns. It's really interesting and pretty.

Gawd, I love that picture. Reminds me of my childhood. The only vacation we ever took was to the Natural Bridge, Williamsburg and the Outer Banks of NC. Did it on the cheap. My parents probably had saved up $150. Some of us slept in our old Ford stationwagon & some on the ground in sleeping bags (two parents, 3 kids). No motels, no restaurants. We had a Coleman stove and that is what my mother cooked on and one of those old red Coke coolers for the cold stuff. This was either 1958 or 59, remember it like it was yesterday.

This is an icon of my childhood. Many memories there, both good and bad. Interesting I come across a picture of it today.

Happy to hear you had such a great vacay :)

I love the caverns.
