Drying herbs

All my herbs grew really well in with the flowers, this is Parsley. You have to dry them in the shade or inside. The sun takes out their potencey. I pick them in the evening and spray wash them with the hose, then lay them on newspapers to dry. When the newpaper dries, I replace it with paper towels and cover the tops with paper towels too, to avoid any dust. I don't have room for any hanging racks, so every surface in my kitchen right now is covered with drying things. I found some old leather desk trays at a sale and they work well for things I don't have to wash, like flowers seeds. Baskets work too, anything with ventilation. It only takes a few days and then I store them in lidded containers. It looks like a crone's cottage in here. I guess it is. It smells really good in here though. I have a lot more to do and I'm making Sage smudging sticks too.
