Meet Calypso

I missed a Sunday readers post, but, I found it and I'll put it on now. This is Crystal's new baby and he's precious and sweet. Their old dog died and it was sad, but, they opened their hearts to this little guy. Her son named him Calypso which I think it really cute.

Puppies do have an intoxicating smell. Our new baby is coming home on Wednesday and I will have pictures of her.

Congratulations!

Awwwh! I can smell the puppy breath from here! For some strange reason I love puppy breath. BEFORE they eat their own poop. :)

Awwwww I love beagles! I had one for years. I would recommend plenty of chew toys because that dog chewed everything lol

thank you all for your kind words. We had a 10 yr old beagle/cocker spaniel who died unexpectedly and we were so sad, we decided to start all over again with just a beagle.

So I kind of knew what beagles were like but not a purebred - man does he get into everything and I certainly understand the chewing and omg the digging - my garden/grass will never be the same BUT WE LOVE HIM TO BITS.

No worries Pat for being late, I was just concerned you didn't get it :)

We just lost "Boo" in May who would have turned 18 on October 31st! (Hence the name Boo!) He was our first "baby" and my buddy- I miss him so much. But we still have Paige- our Beagle- who just underwent surgery in June for a cancerous tumour on her paw- major surgery, open wound, bandage changes 2x a week! She is doing great now! That puppy pic is so cute. Beagles are great dogs- they LOVE food, but are very loyal and wonderful with children!

Crystal,

Boo was part cocker spaniel too. I feel your loss. Just think of the Rainbow Bridge- our friends will be waiting for us there.

Pat,
You are so considerate of others feelings & events in their lives. Do you keep a notebook of it all, in order to keep track? Like right next to your monitor? I would have to. You always seem to remember little things about your readers. That amazes me & I think its wonderful. Love you girl

PS: Anybody know a good remedy for an earache? Please!!!! OUCH!!!

My little terrier had surgery 2 weeks ago too and is doing well now. These little puff balls of love can yank the hell right out of your heart strings but they're soooo worth it in the love and fun they give back so freely. I have 4 dogs and a cat. Some just wandered into my life and stayed. My oldest, a lab, was about to be put down and I happened to be at the shelter dropping off some supplies and grabbed him. He was only 2 but had some food aggression issues. We've had him almost 10 years and I've found when he has enough food he had no aggrssion about it. He is my biggest teddybear and share bear with the other pups now. He even gives my Yorkie piggy-back rides!

Half the time I think I like animals better than people.

12:09:00 I don't have notes on people. I like everyone here and I usually remember friends kids and pets. I got Nadines dog's name confused and I've known her for years. Cami. Geesh, Tawny was MY dog. I'm half goofy.

Thanks again for all the posts, I really do appreciate them. It is never easy losing a pet but we weren't prepared at all which didn't add to the sorrow -- I know your never ready, but 1 day your dog is running around the house, fine and 2 days later it dies, is just disheartening.

We thought of a shelter dog, but the ones here were all big dogs and we wanted a small one, plus we thought a puppy would be better (not sure why now lol).

For everyone here who just lost their pet and some that are getting a new one - my heart goes out to you all, as I do know what your going through.

crystal

PS - Yeah Pat I was impressed with the name too lol, although I think dogs need 2 syllables not 3 to their name - but oh well, my son was set on the name.

You have to keep us updated on him. We're an animal lovin' bunch!

There are truly only two kinds of people on this planet. (1) People who have pets (or love them, but for whatever reason, can't have one because of a landlord, or whatever), and (2) the Weirdos. Simple as that.
