Heirloom Tomatos. I can only voice my opinion. These things which are touted at the true tomato get too big too fast, they have stretch marks which attract bugs. They are always misshapen because they are too big and their vines take over the garden. They don't actually taste any better than hybrid tomatos. I doubt I'll be planting them again. They are in fact, a creepy Tomato with an undeserved splendid reputation.*
They remind me of some bloggers and some radio show hosts who think they have the right to "take over" and force themselves and their warped opinions on their net neighbors. They are supposed to be the better bloggers because they appear to be normal and hold the "right" beliefs and yet, dig a little and you will find something rotten and deformed and very smelly. Something best left alone. It has come to my attention that I have been labeled "psychotic" by these people and their proof is that I don't hide my beliefs anymore. It's a fair bet that not one of them has a degree in Psychiatry. Fairies? Ghosts? Oh, my. What rational person could possibly believe we are not alone on this planet? I must seek medical help according to them. The same people who believe that an ancient carpenter named Jesus was killed on a cross and then rose from the dead and ascended into the sky. I do not put down that belief, I have Christians on here who are good to me and are good people. But, why is what I believe so impossible in comparison? Why is what I believe, which is simply that we are not the only intelligent life forms on Earth, a reason to label me psychotic? Yes, indeed, there is something rotten on the net and I know that bad smell and fetid air is not coming from this blog. They have to live with themselves and that's punishment enough. If there is karmic justice they will end up in the Universe's big compost pile. Perhaps they will make good fertilizer for the birth of new thoughts, or perhaps they will continue to grow as noxious rotted things that have no real use. Whatever, they shouldn't get anymore of my time.

As for heirlooms, I go for the smaller varieties. Black Krim`s are nice.

They do not grow overly big.
But I just like different types of tomatoes. Not trying to sell you on them at all. I have just had good luck with them here.

My mom has heirloom tomatoes and they are really good. They are really big and ugly, but good. She always brings me some when she gets the chance to visit. She doesn't know the name of them, but we call them ugly tomatoes. Some get as big as a mush melon , I swear am not kidding!
Everything they said was wrong. They don't even have their facts right. I think it's best to let them sit in their own shit and smell bad.
I wouldn't let them get you down DD. I just do not understand how the same people who demand respect for their religious beliefs choose not to give the same respect to others and their beliefs. I find it easier to believe in several earth based higher powers then one all being omnipotent God. If that makes any sense. Let's just say I don't care if someone chooses to worship a dog as long as they are good people. You DD fall under the good people tab and I enjoy reading what you have to say whether I agree with it or not. If what you are saying is not my cup of tea, I can certainly respect how you feel and it gives me something to think about.

The best tomato I ever had was a homegrown Celebrity cultivated by my step-mother's brother-in-law in a backyard garden in a little town called Sawyerville where live less than 200 people.
There were no stretch marks, no fetid underside, no unwarranted, uneducated, unrequested opinions. Just the form a bulging heart brimming with perfect, tomato-y, knows-it-doesn't-know-everything goodness.

About the rotten personalities... I agree with you and wish they'd just stay in their rotten little worlds and leave the rest of us alone. Like you, I believe we are not alone on this planet. I also believe in the mystical, magical world that surrounds us and know that karma will catch up with those rotten, mean and backstabbing people out there. Sorry about the rant.
Since they're so preoccupied with your beliefs you've obviously made a bigger impression on them then they have on you.

Those that discredit your beliefs should look at their own beliefs the way they really are. Last friday we drove to Portland, OR to a backyard concert (big shout out to ARZ!), at one of the band member's house. Their garden took my breath away. That place was magical. I felt the magik in every flower, every ornament, every vine. The music from our friends made it even more so. Good magik is where you least expect it to be. Took lots of pics, I'll e-mail DD some to share!!

This guy is a transparent, small town, blow-hard. A few months ago he had Kate pictured with swastikas on each side of her. Shortly after his site was closed down.
His paronoia lead him to believe it was the fault of the, "evil" Democrates but in reality, his own stupidity proved to be his greatest stumbling block.
He couldn't gather enough followers from the non-fan camp so now he's taken his toys and rallied with the fans to see if he can get some more interest, in his tired little site, from them.
He only disredits himeself with obvious demonstrations of bigoted ignorance.

I wonder if he knows that the US Gov. has recognized Wicca and all it's magical applications as a recognized and accepted spiritual path? The military offer Wiccan clergy to their troops as does the prison systems.
By him throwing insults at anyone following a path of a nature belief system it is just as distasteful and ignorant as making racial slurs.
Then again, he did think he was being terribly witty with showing a pic of Kate making what looked like a nazi salute in her yard and photoshopping two swastikas on either side of her.
That was the last visit I made to his site. Kate may be a disagreeable person, who has deemed fit to exploit her kids and berate the hubs on TV but she should never be compared to the likes of Hitler. I'm not Jewish but was left utterly offended. There was no humor in the nazi party. There was no humor in the loss of all those lives. There was no humor in his post.
Did you also notice that many of the 160 something posts on that iodiots site are made by him more than likely and are just cut and paste quotes that you make about him on this site? Loo, he thrives on the attention. Ignore the little troll and while he may continue to rant and rave, only his little band of small minded idiots will be able to feed his never ending eago.
