Christian Louboutin, Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen gave us the worst. We said no thank you to open toed boots, we simply didn't see the point (literally) and no thank you to the odd ball shoes even though Lady GaGa and Poshie thought they were a must have. Sadly, some of us fell for the Gladiator sandal and that's a shame because they cut off even the legs of leggy celebs and made everyone look stumpy. Most women found them uncomfortable too. I hope they disappear in the coming year. Women have always liked leggings and finally someone figured that out. Unfortunately, it was someone in Lindsay Lohan's camp and we laughed at her prices. If we wanted ripped leggings, we wouldn't by Blowhan's for $200.00, we would go to JC Penny's and pay $25.00 and rip them ourselves. Fashion designers may catch on someday that we aren't sheep and though we liked the movie, in reality Carrie Bradshaw is middle aged. Middle aged women in tutus and giant scrunchies are ridiculous. What do you think was the worst fashion fad of 2009?

newport news has leggings really cheap! i get like 3 pair for $21!!!
i think fashion designers should get a grip on what REAL women want to wear! celebs look ridiculous a lot of the time....remember that furry dress thing madonna wore at some design council gala?
Yep, lol. I think Gyweneth looked the stupidest in 2009. She fell for all of it.
I hate hate hate the 4"+ heels that the "celebrities" wear that they cannot even walk in.
Oprah looks ridiculous when she tries to walk on those shoes. And Meredith Veria (spelling?) on the Today Show loses all news cred when she is wearing stripper heels.
The shoes are not flattering if walk like you have a stick up your ass.
Whats amazing/stupid is the preg stars that walk in thouse shoes and they are 7 months or more along. Gezz I was 7 months when my feet started to swell into brawtwust.
Oh the lady gaga shoes from her video.. ( I dont know how the models and stars walk in these) They are intresting to look at but gwad they have to hurt.
Gladiator shoes.. I have to admit I have a pair, and jesus shoes also with my ballet tye up shoes. Trashy yes but I love my spice girl sneakers to. I love platforms. Havent worn them for years.
Oh how about lady gaga outfit she wore to the mtv awards. The blood clot one. She looked like a macob alice and wonderland red queen. Oh and the kermit the frog suit. Lady gaga is my fav but her fashion is way out there.
Lady GaGa's main audience is transgender, transexual and theatre people. The rest of us just think she has a good voice.
I don't know what the worst fad was - but i am LOVING the plaid comeback. I haven't found any that i like though...
Corina, I'm pretty sure you can thank Suri Cruise for that one.
oh the seattle grunge look.. Ah kurt cobian.. I wonder if that means that baby doll dress with come back. I love the mod look.
My fashion question?
Why are all those women on TV wearing sleeveless dresses in the middle of winter? I don't care how good your arms look, put some clothes on. Save the sleeveless for July.
Ain't no prude but maybe raise your neckline just a tad. I really get tired of seeing cleevage. Not talking about adult night time shows, this is on news/ daytime talk shows/ family shows.
And agree about the hooker heels.
I'm sick of the cleavage hanging out too. It's not pretty. I hate sleevless stuff in Winter, it looks silly. Baby dolls make everyone look pregnant, unless you're anorexic.
But fashion has always been "out there" and it should. It is a form of art and is all about creativity. I have to admit very few are practical in the real world and I wouldn't wear half of it but that doesn't stop me from appreciating the kinds of pieces created for fashion shows.
Those massive shoes in the middle are an excellent example. It is not something I would ever wear but there is something very appealing about its shape and I find myself drawn to it.
I don't know about the sleeveless thing. I wear sleeveless stuff in winter sometimes. Sometimes you can't control the heat so I dress in layers. Sometimes the bottom layer is sleeveless, not spaghetti strap or anything, but sleeveless nonetheless. I have to say though, that I hate Bump-its. You know, the things that basically give you a beehive. They're so popular here! In total agreement on the gladiators though....and I'm not a big fan of the thigh high, platform hooker boots being shoved down our throats.
I didn't post that about coming for the weekend. I have to dogsit and work. Sorry, but I think it was a troll.
Harem pants! Ugh! Thankfully they never really caught on, but fashion websites and magazines were pushing them like crazy. Like I really want to look like MC Hammer in 1990.
I also hate the open-toed boots trend. I hate finding a nice pair of boots and realizing they have an open toe. I can't wear socks with them and my toes get cold.
And yes Gwyneth Paltrow made a fool of herself with all her painfully trendy outfits this year. She used to be considered a big fashion icon in the late 1990s and then she lost it. I think she is desperate to get it back but she's too stupid to realize fashion icons don't just run after every trend that comes by. J.Lo is another one who's time has passed but is desperate to be sexy and adored, and dresses too trendy.
I think jarhead would look HOT is those gladiator sandals.
escrow
This isn't a new trend, but I hate the tops with the band across the bottom, it makes a person look all lumpy in the middle.
Skinny jeans. Unless you are 12 and broomsick skinny. ANd even them it looks uncomfortable and like sausage casing.
