I woke up to more snow. It's just a nice gentle light snow though, pretty and not deep. Even Guntown looks good in snow, well, sort of. I like it before everyone walks in it and the animals pee in it. I put an old artificial tree in my dead flower bed and let Lissa pick out the lights. She chose "all colors." The ground was frozen, so, I wired the sucker to the clothes line pole, lol. It looks pretty lame in the day time, but, at night it's just as pretty as can be. She put the lights on the bottom and I left them the way she arranged them. We have yellow around the porch roof and doors and some little trees. She really got into the decorating, she said no one ever lets her do it. Now she wants to add more. I talked her out of those blow up snowmen and suggested maybe a reindeer. She thought that was a great idea, but, now I can't find one in town. Maybe they have one in the next town over, I'm going to look this week. If I find a big plastic light up Santa though, I'm getting it for her. I told her she can keep adding lights to the garden until New Years. We'll see if we can blow the breaker box clear out. *
OMG, Lissa is losing her first tooth. She let me wiggle it and it's really loose, so I told her all about the tooth fairy. She had no idea. She said "Are you kidding me??" I said, no kidding, you'll get money for it! She's so excited. I have to get the car out of the snow today, because she has her school Christmas program and she invited me. I love those, don't you? You stand in a hot gym that smells like socks and popcorn farts and wait hours for your kid to show up and pick their nose on stage with 30 other kids picking their noses while some harried old lady plays an untuned piano. And you clap and take blurry photos of a speck. Jingle bells. All the way. And they're always so proud. Somewhere up on stage I'm bound to hear "Hi, Grandma, HI!!!" I'll be there. You can bet on it. These are the good parts of life.

Hey Dishy, I just wanted to thank you for being so awesome. I have been a loooong time reader, (yes trolls, I have read DD even before DD started talking about the G's) I started posting comments as 'I used to love perez', when I used to read what Perez had to say. Eventually I just stuck reading your blog and quit reading other celeb blogs cause it just wouldn't interest me anymore, well except for Crabbie's which you introduced many of us to.
Even when blogging about celebrities there was always something that got me hooked on looking forward to what you had to say, and now that this has become more like a journal of personal experiences the hook has sunk into place and won't move. You have made me laugh so much and I have cried when you shared your agony.
If I could right now I would drive all the way to Iowa to give you a kiss on the forehead and a big bear hug. Thank you for being YOU.
aw.....i second meissa2112!
we are getting a light dusting of snow.....just slightly spitting snow.....we'll see how long this lasts.....
i am sure the xmas program will be great! great because lissa is expecting you and the look on her face when she sees you will be priceless!
Thank you! I love my readers, it's the only reason to blog. The feedback. I think it's hilarous that they think I'm a Gosselin blog. They can't wrap their tiny one brain cell around the fact that there are other things in the world and I only give a fuck about Kate in the context that she is an abuser who makes the front page. This aint a hate kate site. It's just me and my readers opinions about the entire world. Fuck all of them if they don't like it.
Awww please show us pics of lissa play. I'm so happy that she invited you dd. I hope she didn't invite your mom. Good gwad she probably would have the whole stage and parents looking at her though the whole thing.
Glad to see you got snow finally. I bet it makes the whole house seem more xmassie. We still dont have any snow up here in PA. Thats fine with me because its cold as balls out.
Have a great day today dd with lissa. take care
Thanks for the pics. Beautiful! We are getting some snow right now and I love to watch it fall. Have a great time at Lissa's play. Sorry about the troll crap.
Pat,
THIS post right here, shows your, "realists heart" in all it's glory. It's what charms and captivates your readers and endears you so deeply in their hearts.
I always read your posts but am at times left so filled with contemplation of your words that I have no words of my own to type.
THAT's the mark of a writer...
Too sweep the reader off their feet and transport them to a place beyond their norm. To bring us all into your world takes courage but we all learn, benefit and appreciate the effort.
It matters not HOW you chose to live but that you DO chose to live and then SHARE the experiences. That's a gift.
Lissa is so lucky to have you. The yard looks wonderful.
We just got our first snow too and it looks magical.
You guys are so nice to me. I am going to write another story this week. I am suddenly inspired. I will lable it fiction though.
WOW....I didn't play internet at all yesterday and I'm glad I didn't. Kudos to you Pat for not getting sucked into the ugliness and stoopidity.
Be careful getting your car out. Drive friendly on the icy roads. And enjoy the Christmas program. My grand daughter will be in kindergarten next year so it will be my turn to participate and can't wait. Of course I will have to travel 130 miles to do so.
It's 3 degrees here this morning and looks like we've got about 8" of snow and more snow thru Wednesday. My car aint going nowhere. LOL I'm going to make soup and bread and put more ornaments on my tree.

You're darn right, those are the good parts of life. I love me a kid's Christmas show!!
Oh, Pat, please post some pics of Lissa in the Christmas program. I live for that stuff with my granddaughter.
And I can't wait for your next entry.
Also, sorry about the troll crap. I tried to get them (or him) to go to Lisa's but he wouldn't bite.
I met Pat in a chat room, I use to come on to her and she would turn me down by saying Swampy I don't roll that way (this is not true)...The chat room is true I would LOVE watching her be mouthy to someone putting them in there place as PsychoBitch her sarcasm and wit is just incredible, then she began blogging and she was still hateful and I loved it watching her put people whou would post on her blog in place knowing when people pissed her off they were in a heap of trouble and I would again Love to watch the trouble go wondering what she was going to do because you never knew!!! Even back then she had a knack for writing it was more about celebrities which was alway enjoyable but have to say the way the Dirty Disher is done I truly enjoy the mix of celebrity, real life past, present, and future. Have also very much enjoyed reading about the readers here.
Connie
Connie, I gave up chat rooms because of the constant "Yer a homo!" mentality. I swear, if chat rooms attracted any more weirdo's they'd have to call it "perv chat" to be truthful. But, I did meet a few real friends that I still have in that goofy chat room. Yep, psychoBitch is alive and well.
I also agree with Meissa - DD you are awesome! I don't post that often but I read you every day and enjoy your writing and sharing your experiences. Looking forward to seeing Xmas program pics too. Go Lissa!

I havnt been in a chat room in years. About 2 1/2 years ago I visited a local yahoo chat because someone hacked through somehow and placed a trivia game in it. Once that ended so did my visits. Now I just keep up with "chat room buddies" through blogs, e-mails, snail mail and phone calls, which works for me. Connie
p.s. I want snow
Connie
You have more snow than us.
Kate who? Gosselins who?
Seriously, I have not heard anything about them in a week or 2. Maybe they have actually gone away? Unless BaBa Wawa has her way about it! She thinks Kate's shit don't stink! But thankfully, there's not been any news about them. Tiger is dominating right now. LOL

I wish it would snow here, kind of. I wish it would snow the kind of snow that stays for one day and then leaves. Great pics DD!!!!!
I agree with all the others. Reading your blog about the mundane helps me escape the mundane in my life. You make it interesting and amusing as hell and yes, you are a very talented writer and so damn funny. Coming to this blog is sort of like visiting with a friend. Yes, I know that sounds lame but it's true.
Awww, thanks chummy.
We had snow Friday. Everybody was so excited. I know it's lame but when it has only snowed about 6 times here in the last 30 years we get excited.
Lisa K that's the kind of snow we had. It was only here for less than a day but it was great.
DD I will send you a pic of my grandson playing in the snow. He had so much fun.
I think I would freeze to death if I lived where it got very cold. It was 57 degrees here today and we were freezing cold all day.
One more thing. We are usually wearing shorts on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I leave Canada on a daily basis and escape to
Iowa and am always amazed at this woman
we all know & love DD ;) I can't get enuf of
her posts and really Njoy the bloggers/friends.
Thank you DD 4all that you share with us everyday.
Love your snow pix I'm waiting for my first
snowstorm due this week soon tues night.
I will send you pix of my property when it
is transformed into a winter wonderland. Kiki :)
Pat, I love reading all you have to say. This is the one blog that I visit, as all the others fall short. You have such a great knack for writing about your family, your earlier years, celebrity, and gardening, etc. You put it all together, and it all works. I love this.
As for the weather here, we have a cold (for us) snap going. It was 23 this morning, and is supposed to be colder tomorrow. On Wednesday the storm is supposed to arrive, whatever that means. I don't know if we are talking about snow, wind, freezing rain, or what, but like everyone else out here, I was out shopping for extra supplies yesterday. It's silly. My cupboards are full, I have plenty on hand, and not enough money right now, but I have the "you can never have enough" gene.
I can't wait to see the pictures of Lissa at her Christmas program, and hear how it went. She is a little gem.
Christina
Thanks to you guys for reading me. Without you there would be no DD.
