Someone asked to see these and I wish I could get better pics, but, I can't with this camera. You wanted to know what kind of wax figures I'm making. I make these figures at night, I watch TV and I have to do something with my hands. I started this many years ago and I finish an average of one figure per month. The process is simple, folk artsy really, but, fairly long. I start with a mixture of salt, oil and blessed Moon water and I form the initial shape. Inside I hide something magical, a stone, herb, etc..something that has meaning to me. Then I dry that with heat, usually on top of the furnace. It takes a few days for it to get hard as concrete. After that I apply wax in layers, this can take another few days. The wax MUST be from a candle I have used in a ritual. The wings, that one has 6, are made with discarded burned cellophane, which really works. If you apply heat to cello, it works like a Shrinky Dink and becomes stiff, but, remains transparent. You can actually control the shape by controlled burning. Nothing is cut. More detail will be added to this one later, her arms will be poured, she will get tiny hands, beads, etc. Whatever I think of. You can click that top pic and see it better. Sorry, it's blurred.*
This one is a Slyph, an air spirit. I make mostly water spirits, Ondines, I am a water sign. Anyhow, these things are not meant to be art, they are not purdies to look at. They are offerings and in the last 10 years, I am proud to say, that my Ondines have been sent to net friends all over the world to be tossed into the worlds waters. So, my small offerings are at the bottom of nearly every major body of water on the planet Earth, and many, many smaller ones. If ALL the Elementals didn't know me before, I think they do now. It is my way of showing respect. And there's a tiny bit of immortality in there too.

You make Faeries too! Wow! She is so pretty.
Thanks. They're Elementals, which in folk tale form are indeed, faeries. And I am a believer.
Oh, and Happy Yule, Alyssa, my new Pagan friend!! It's the big night!
It sure is and Happy Yule to you also! I'm so happy to find a special friend like you. I believe in Faeries also. I have over 100 in my collection. From little bitty to a foot tall.
WOW..send me pics!
So pretty. Why are they tossed into water?
I'm sending the pics now. Having dsl is so slow!
They are elemental offerings. Air, fire, water, earth. This one is an air slyph, she won't go in water. She's going someplace else.
Wow that is a very complex little faerie DD. What I see she looks very pretty. If she is representing air. Do you hang her out side? Maybe on a tree, branch or high above something? Just wondering.
DD question. Have you ever scene the movies Hell boy.. They are really good. They have alot of mythology, religon, pagans, fokelore etc.. I think they are great movies. The last movie had tooth faeries. It was really intresting their point of view on them. They were little winged creatures with sharp teeth. Who came down to eat little teeth.
Wow!!! They are beautiful!!! You are one awesome chick!!!

COOL! I want to be you, Pat.
Good way to keep busy - idle hands are the devils workshop, lol
Happy Yule Pat!!!!!!!
LOVE IT!!!! GO Faeries.
Pat,
Could u make one for me. To keep the fibro away?
I'm not a healer, Brig. But I do know one who's for real and pretty famous around here. Send me your pic and I will ask her to work on your energy.
Thats beautiful. Very delicate. I love faeries and do believe they exist. Your garden last summer is proof of that. And they will be back next year for you. Hope you are doing better. Making these would be relaxing & wonderful fun. I have a faerie area in my house. I love this!

Pat,
your comment on 7:16 made me think. Do you know of an Amish fella in Indiana named Soloman? He's also a healer. Allegedly. He scares me. He uses photos also. I don't understand it. He diagnosis illness that way too, if you can't come to him in person. Then he sells herbal remedies to help you with your health problems. People travel from all over to see him. I have never been to see him. Never will. Just wondered if you ever heard of him.

Solomon? Maybe thats it. Like the King in the Bible.
No, I don't know him. The healer I know is a woman and she uses energy and stones. She brought Lissa out of a vegative state after her last surgery. It was somethin' to see.
I am so jealous. Those are beautiful. You are just too talented. Gardening, writing, art ... What can't you do?
That is a beautiful figure, DD. You are very gifted, I can see your light shining through it.
Not me above and sorry, don't use any of those drugs, I see you learned how to google.
Brig, I got it. Sorry, the horse's ass is on a roll today.
That's too cool, love it!
Lovely. There really is no end to your talents. I suppose you never get bored!
Only wiff trolls. ~wink~
I would love to put one in the Pacific Ocean off the Oregon coast, if there is one needed there!
Beth
Do you do workshops? Do you need more cellophane? Lake Loveland could use a water element or three to save us from the farmers out east who drain the lake for crops.

Oh, I'd love for you guys to take one out and let it go! I'll start making Ondines again next and let you know when theyre done. That's so cool of you!
I love your Ondine Pat..... and yes I'd be honored to put one off the northern coast of PR into the sometimes savage waves of the Atlantic. As you know PR falls into the Bermuda trangle space and that might be the ideal resting place for one of your Ondines. (I still have your sculpture/vase which you made for me years ago and which to this day looks like one of the 3 Kings)
Sweeeeeeet, Nadine.
Our woods could use one too. I'd love too. I'd be honored to help find them a place to rest here in the Pacific Northwest!!
