I have to tell you this one..my mother had me go to the pharmacy to pick up some medicine. I went and got it and handed it to her and she goes "Oh, this is the wrong medicine, this is pain pills." Hmm, you don't say, let me see those. Holy crap, they'd given her a big GIANT sized bottle of Oxycontin. I was like wtf, you take this shit?? And she said, no, she doesn't take it. She called the pharmacy and they called the doctor and he said, fill her blood pressure medicine and she can go ahead and keep the Oxycontin. She might need it. WHAT???? She already gets a ton of Codine, Vallium, etc. and she hoards that. She doesn't take any of this crap. I told her she wasn't keeping her Hillbilly Heroin. I took it back. It's ridiculous. She said, why don't you try it before you just take it back and waste it? I said because I DON'T DO HILLBILLY HEROIN. Fucking idiots, all of them. If the local scumbags find out she's getting Oxycontin, she'll get robbed and mugged. How the fuck does she get all these drugs when I can hardly get a little generic Vocodin every month??? How do these old fuckers do it? When she kicks off, the only thing I want to inherit is her medicine cabinet. No shit.

WTF drugs

I am tellin' you. Thats one thing I noticed on "Intervention"...those ppl seem to be able to get an Rx they want. They share it with their kids, their friends. They never run out either. They just get more. They don't work because they are incapicated. I work and have to get generic everything. It's fine but drugs are expensive. I am on 2 meds. My husband is on so many it's crazy. You name it. Sometimes I need a 500 mg Tylenol and he shares with me, or a extra strong Valium if I can't sleep. He has plenty. It's weird. WTF? Is right!!!! Drugs, give them drugs!!! Right? Dayum. Why??? And the Dr said let her keep the Oxy's!!! OMFG! The "boys" woulda helped her out with that one. They need cigarette & gas money! haha. Seriously.

I'm telling you, the amount of drugs she hoards is crazy. She's a hypocondric and a wanna be doctor. And her real doctor just loads her up. And she doesn't even take them. I can't get shit and I need them.
I am in AWE! I must go to the only dr. in the world that is extremely strict with meds. I have arthritis in the hip, my knees are shot, I have a narrowing spine and my ankle bone keeps popping in and out. I've just gone through the last 4 months of my husband being in and out of the hospital (dementia, congestive heart failure & renal failure)and put him in a nursing home. All this on top of not being able to work for 2 months. And my dr. gave me Zannex--which is such a low dose, it helps with nothing. How stressed out do you have to be to get some kind of help. I just want the warm, fuzzy, secure feeling that valium gives you for just one night. Is that too much to ask? And no I'm not an addict. If I were I probably would already have a script!
Bayou, I'm so sorry for what your going through. That's rough about your husband. Damn. Yeah, I know how pain is and how hard it is to get meds. That's why I find it so bizarre that the old lady can basically get anything. And she hoards it and tries to bribe me with it. Thanks, dope dealing old lady. I think she'd love to have me addicted, then she would be in control.
Working where I have and where I do. So many people coming in because of addictions to Oxy, all you have to do is go to your nearest E.R. and say OUCH and they say oxy...it's ridiculous and any time they prescribe it to me I never have it filled. My 23 yr old had a construction accident when his "friend" wasnt paying attention and accidently by using a nail gun nailed my sons hand to a board, they pulled his hand off the board but the nail stayed in so after exrays, and removal of the nail prescribed oxy...I showed the boy my c-section scar and said looky here the pain was taken away by tylenol, your a man suck it up then took his pills from him.

Bayou Jane I don't know if you live in a large town but you should go see a pain doctor.
I have arthiritis in every joint in my body. I am a bone spur factory. I have had one knee replaced twice because the first one failed. That is one surgery no one should have. I walked around for over a year with a loose implant. Every step hurt.
I go see a pain management doctor. I have to go in every six months and I take two different kinds of pain medication, but I was unable to function without them.
I have a full time job with a company that I have worked for over 20 years.
Regular docs don't like to prescribe pain meds. Pain management has come a long way in the last few years. I go to a very reputable doctor at Baylor College of Medicine.
I hope you feel better because I know how debilitatin pain can be.
I used to have friend who lived for these meds. She hung with a group of women who knew exactly how to scam the system and any script they wanted they got then they trade among thmeselves like trading baseball cards. My end with her was when she would get in wars with her husband over who stole whose valiums....cheese and crackers, I just never got it.

OMG indeed Dirty Disher. Unfuckinbelievable. Your mother pulled one of my sisters ploys back in the day. You are right on about the control thing. They gotta feel better than someone,right? Mine died of a OD.
My Dr. needs to see me every month. I wouldn't even think to ask for refills over the phone these days.
How totally bizarre! Last year our patients in-house at the hospital could take oxycodone, but they couldn't get scripts for oxy's to use at home because the FDA felt it was being overused and abused.
It's very odd that your mom was prescribed this medication if she didn't ask for it, and for them to shrug off what sounds like a mistake is very strange.
Bayou Jane, there have got to be better doctors for you out there. My husband has had recent issues with depression related to his father, and he was sent to see a nurse practitioner who specializes in drugs for depression, etc. She started him on a new antidepressant, but also loaded him up on Lunesta for sleep. Keep looking for a more sympathetic doctor. (And tell them what you need! It doesn't hurt to speak up!)

What????????????? you think thats bad my hubs mom gets everything. All the good shit. She even counts it every night and hordes it. She complains to 1 dr about this pain and another about a other pain. They give her the pills. Know when I had mouth pain for 3 years the dr just told me take tylenol. WTF i was rolling on the floor cant eat half of the time and in pain. But a old lady who said she has m.s gets every kind of pain pill you can think of.
Well this explains a lot Pat. You and your mother, and your son are all drug addicts. Makes sense. It is just a matter of time before you all OD.

Your mother probably aggravates the hell out of her doctor too so he probably just gives her anything to shut her up Lol. In my area Oxy's are the last thing doctors give these days because so many people are addicted to it.
