Of the billions of stars in our Milky Way galaxy, 15 percent may host "twins" of our solar system, a new study says. While that might not sound like much, the find suggests that several hundred million star systems look a lot like the one we call home, the study authors say.

Duh, you don't say? That's what folks with common sense have told you all along, scientists. We are a presumptuous planet. And when we do discover another "Earth" I'm sure we'll send it aid and then declare war on it. But, I'm also sure the missionary's will get there first.

Yes and when they send there missionaries here I think we should eat them, probably taste like chicken.
LMAO! It's a bet.
yeah, exactly, those fuckers will call them primitive and have to 'christianize' them.....i hope the aliens annihilate them.....
Mmmm, Missionaries.
Maybe we'll just "move" them somewhere else and set up camp there! Give 'em a few casinos and call it even.
Trust me, it will be a long time before we visit planets outside our solar system, probably thousands of years (if we ever do). I'm guessing civilization will have to collapse and recover multiple times before we get to that technological level. Right now we can't even get ourselves into orbit without scattering pieces of our astronauts all over Texas.
Crabbie, you took the words right out of my mouth. We are out of oil. We ain't goin nowhere fast. Git your bicycles out.

Yes, that's what we need. A new planet to screw up. Maybe that one won't have politicians and people can live happily ever after.
I still think missionary is probably a tough meat. A bunch of bone and grissle (sp).
maybe these the ones that actually taught the earthlings about civilazation and how to build estuarys and water canals and pyramids? Maybe they are so far superior to us that we won't be able to go there and take over, maybe this is where life REALLY began? Maybe they sent us to our earth for an experiment? Maybe they have been observing us for milleniums and caused many of the factors that made up our history? Maybe thats where ancient Greek got the "Mythological Gods" they taught about? Maybe we ain't so hot. Maybe they will squash us and tell us we were a bad idea and need to be stopped. Kinda like Jurassic Park. Just sayin'...
rox
Then we will have to apologise to them in a few centuries for how we screwed them
Missionaries are tasty when crunchy and with ketchup.
