Pet Tarantula
They do make an interesting pet. If you have an older kid who loves Arachnids, really, they aren't that scary. They are basically gentle graceful creatures who don't go around biting things bigger than themselves. They are fascinating to watch. I'd advise buying from a reputable dealer as they can tell you which ones are agressive. Generally, you don't want an agressive one for a child, because their bite is painful. Not venomous, but, like a bad bee sting. This one is fairly young...they get MUCH larger than this in captivity and eventually you have to feed them mice. Which, I admit, is yuky. But, they live for years with little care. Oh, and make sure your cage has a lock. It's no fun sleeping when they've escaped. LOL, trust me on that.

My little boy wants one of these spiders and a snake!!! I told him we would get it when we have less than we have now. Our sugar gliders got out of their new cage the other night..it was not fun hunting them down. They finally came back to their cage for food, thank goodness!
That Sugar Glider is the cutest damn thing I've ever seen! What do they eat?
That thing is freaking huge.. My hubs roommate in college had a huge milliapede. That sucker grossed me out. But I do like lizards, snakes and other cold blooded animals.
