Karma should kick the ass of the idiots who decided this was an outside dog and abandoned her to the cold. She was rescued by neighbors who contacted Heidi. Heidi adopted her and she now lives happily with her new family INDOORS. Good job, Heidi, she's a precious little girl. Her name is LuLu. All together now....AWWWWWW!

Heidi, you did a wonderful thing rescuing that cute little doll. Who on earth would think that she was an "outdoor dog" in winter? That's crazy. Unfortunately, anyone can buy a dog. We have so much freedom in this country. . .but so many forget that with freedom comes responsibility. It's rare that people are held accountable for their lack of care when it's just one dog---as opposed to a hoarder.
Good job saving her!
Heidi, you did a great thing and will be rewarded one day. And Karma will visit the nasties that
did that to her and it will not be
pretty.
Thank you.
She went to the vet yesterday. She is approximately 2 years old. He could not tell if she is fixed because scars do fade. I will have to wait to see if she goes into heat. She suffers from a collapsible trachea but that is not the end of the word. She will just have to wear a harness outside. She weighs 5lbs and change and she is not under weight.
I talked to the groomer yesterday also. From my description (especially her curled tail), she thinks she could be a Chihuahua/terrier mix. Her fur is soft and she acts like a little baby.
Yes, someone did not want her and they did not care for her coat. My friends cut all the matted fur off of her.
So she is ours now!
The responsibliltiy of a pet can be overwheming..I get that. But, how could anyone look at LuLu and throw her out in the cold?? It just boggles my mind. You did a great thing, Heidi.
This just kills me. Look at that sweet face. I hate people!
She's so sweet ! Love her lil face :) Kiki
Aww Lulu you are so adorable. Heidi your a angel in many eyes. Thank you for saving this little pup. What a great blessing animals all are.
How can someone look into that sweet little face and not want to do the right thing?!
This is where I'd like to hunt down those former owners, strip them naked and toss 'em outside - let's see how long they'd frolic in a snowbank!
Jerks.
Aww, Lulu is the cutest! We have a lot of DAs who think leaving a dog like this outside is acceptable around here. You've done a wonderful thing! I would rescue every dog in the world if I could.
Heidi, that sweet little munchkin is too cute for words. You will reap heaps of rewards for taking this little girl in - she's easy to fall in love with. Lulu is one lucky puplet! Hugs to you both!
Saw this quote the other day and it's so true:
"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened." - Anatole France
Horrifying! Who could throw a 5 lb. dog outside? I'm shaking with rage.
My redneck neighbors neglected old german shep finally died..so they got a new dog to tie outside and ignore. I hate them.
It did not take long for her to become a diva like my Chi, Perla. They are getting along and Perl is showing her the ropes.
LOL
Now I have a dog and hubs has a dog to keep us warm at night.
Heidi, way to go! She will bring you lots of joy and cuddles!
Over the years, I've fed various feral cats, whom I assume have been dropped off as kittens in the woods behind my house. I have one that I have been feeding for a good 4 yrs. He will 'tentatively' come in my house if I leave the door open and the food right inside the door. He lets me pet him, put medicine on his wounds and he has a bed in my shed. How can people be so cruel to animals, to any living thing? I don't get it.
I'm so glad we have such nice people here. All these litlle furbabies getting gfood homes. My giant furbaby has a bad left hip. He cries everytime he gets up. I know big dogs have hip trouble but he's only 3. I thought it would be when he got older. I want to cry for him. I hate seeing animals in pain. Anyone has any suggestions? I've got to get him to the vet.

Your 3 year old is most likely displastic.
It's going to take an X-ray to determine how bad the ball joint is and then determine treatment.
He's on the young side but there are methods to alleviate the pain. In the interim, try to get him to sleep on a foam pad rather than a hard surface (although some dogs just gravitate to any cold, hard floor).
OMG! I love this child! This baby is so precious. Heidi, she will love you forever. I could just cry. I hate ppl sometimes! Mean ppl do suck! Heidi, I would have done the same thing. Poor little baby. She's tough if she has handled almost this entire winter outside tho!! She has almost no fur & is tiny. How mean can some idiots be. They should have to live like that, see how long they last!
My idiot sister in law got a pure bred shitzu a couple of years ago. As is par for the course, it wasn't long before they "didn't like the dog anymore" and he was left to pretty much fend for himself. His fur got so matted that he couldn't even see where he was going. He was left outside in below zero temperatures with fur wet with snow. I got him a doghouse and some blankets and made snide comments to these idiots regularly but they simply did not care. When spring rolled around, they, for whatever reason, decided to try to groom him. It was a day long nightmare. Of course, I was there to inform upon them that it wouldn't have happened if they had taken care of the dog in the first place. When this winter rolled around, some other neighbors FINALLY took the poor dog to the animal shelter. Complete idiots!
