See that lady in the back, with glasses? Not there. But, the dude in front said it looked just like his dead mother in law, Mabel. This ghost was attached to the car. When a ghost haunts an object, it's called a paranormal attachment..though I think that might be pushing it with a car, since a car is kind of a dwelling sometimes. Anyhow, these attachments are rare, in my opinion. I've seen very few of them, and I deal with the paranormal every day. But, they do happen. Mostly they are residual hauntings, but, there have been recorded cases of intelligent hauntings attached to objects. Objects include paintings, furniture, dolls and household items. It makes you think about the things you bring into your home, 'specially antiques. Have you ever had an object which holds a paranormal attachment?Monday, March 29, 2010
Paranormal attachments

no, never had an object; but i've been in antique stores where i've been around items that give me a totally weird vibe and i won't even TOUCH them!
Yes! I always touch antiques and close my eyes and just feel them. If they feel bad, they aren't going home with me.
oh i'm too scared to touch anything that gives off bad vibes!!! i'm afraid 'something' will attach itself to me!!!
Why on earth would a "Ghost's" glasses reflect the daylight? I think it looks like a man. Kinda tall for a lady & the face & collar of the shirt looks like a man to me. This is just an old picture someone had to make something out of it. I believe things can attach themselves to objects tho. Not saying it isn't possible.
rox
there are spirits who look as real as if they were alive....perhaps that's why the glasses reflect....i saw someone who recently passed and smiled and waved at them, they smiled and waved back i went about my business thinking they were home for the day before it hit me they were home every day now.....
so i believe glasses of a spirit could reflect....
This picture is very well known and one of the ones you always find when you look up "most famous ghost photos."
Sucks for him to have the mother in law being a back seat driver
When I was 19 I bought a beautiful very old quilt at a house sale. It was in excellent condition. I was told by the seller (an old woman who was 87y/o) that it had been made by her youngest daughter who died at the age of 15. I bought the quilt for $20.00. I loved the colors and the multitude of old fabrics and the intricate sewing. No stains, rips and it smelled fine. The seller told me that it had not been used since the daughter died but had been lovingly stored. The pattern is called Grandmother's Flowers, although, at the time I acquired this quilt I knew nothing about quilts or patterns.
I had very very unusual experiences from the very 1st day that I brought this quilt home. These things started gradually and then escalated during the course of the next few months. Things in my room moved, lights went on & off, a voice in the sound of the fan. I was not really scared by these experiences but I was extremely puzzeled and confused.
At first I thought that I was imagining things. I tried telling a few close friends about these happenings but they thought I was nuts. About 2 months after I acquired the quilt I got a clue from the entity that was visiting me several times a week. "She", or it or whatever told me that she was the maker of the quilt and how glad she was that I loved it too. I was very nice to her and it felt totally real, like, in the here and now. When that happened, I did get afraid, but not until AFTER her communication. A few days later, when things were moving on my dresser, she spoke to me again and said "no fear". I believed her and settled into the space that I knew, felt her and these unusual occurances to be totally real but understood that I would never again share this with any family or friends, as it had been so negatively recieved in my 1st attempt to discuss.
Her appearances faded and become very infrequent. Have not "heard" or "seen" her in many many years now. The quilt is on the bed in the extra bedroom. It was not until I was in my thirties that I came to understand and believe that this quilt had a friendly ghost or 'haunted' properties attached to it. This is the 1st time that I have talked about this since 1972.
I bought the bust of a French woman a few years ago. I spotted it the minute I walked into the antique shop. She was pretty expensive but I had to have it. I brought her home and placed her in my antique room. I had her facing the door so that you could see her face as soon as you walked into the room. After a week or so, I started noticing that the bust was turned slightly towards the window when I would go in the room. I would put her back facing the door and days later, I would find her facing the window again. My husband and my son do not go into this room. They think it's creepy. The door stays closed, so issue with pets in there.
I believe in paranormal activities and I began to feel that maybe there was an attachment to this bust. I sat in the room one day and "talked" to her. I told her the reason I placed her where I had and that I would like for her to quit moving the bust. I told her that it was my house and I could put stuff where I wanted it and how I wanted.
About a week later, I came into the room and the bust was facing the window but this time there was a spiderweb crack starting at the top of the head and spread across the back of the bust. As soon as I touched it, the bust crumbled into pieces beyond repair.
I kept the bust for a few months longer because I couldn't bear to throw it away. I don't know what MY attachment to it was but I was sad that it was broken and couldn't be repaired.
I eventually threw it away and have never had any other issues with my antiques being moved in that room.
shelton---maybe she wanted to face the window and look out?
My family had antiques that ancestors had made, things did happen surrounding some of the pieces, never anything bad, just like oh, uncle so & so acting up again. Of course it was helped as they always seemed to live in the oldest, CREEPIEST houses they could find, oh no, no new modern house for them, nothing under 100 years & if it was over 200 they adored it, so you just sort of got used to things, it became normal.
Although I think the real scary thing is the MIL hanging around despite being dead. OMG, she dies & still won't go away! I bet she's still nagging, you're not good enough for my daughter, you're driving too fast, thought you'd be rid of me when I died, blah, blah, blah. That's all anyone needs in laws from beyond the grave, lol! Hope he has sage in the glove-box.
Miss Tia, I thought that myself but it looked strange to position it that way. You walked into the room and you couldn't see her face, which was the best part of the bust. I was unwilling to concede and I guess she showed me, huh?
I don't have any paranormal attachment tales. Only one instance where I bought an interesting, very old looking book at a book sale in the downtown area of my city. It wasn't very big or very thick. Maybe six or eight inches by four, and half or three quarters inch thick. It had a black cover, kind-of textured, like an old bible. It was full of symbols and numbers. From what I understood, later, it was an authentic magician's book, and was something you don't find often. My husband has told me that there is some "code" where you are never supposed to allow outsiders to see something like that. I don't know if that's true, but I have never, ever seen anything like that again. There was something about it that captivated me enough to buy it, but it also repulsed me enough to sell it after a few years. I just got bad vibes from it after awhile, but nothing of interest ever happened. Have you ever heard of such a book, DD? It was complete gibberish, to me. Lots of things written with all consonants, etc.
A ghost haunted the house I live in now for the first 2 years I lived here. The last time it showed up, my husband was out of town. I was pretty scared but also sure of what I should do. My cat was in the corner hissing at it and I sort of yelled at it and almost talked to it, it was an apparition, a shadow moving on the ceiling right above a window, it was in the shape of a woman, wavey torso and head, with long hair. I said to it "leave RIGHT now". It left. It hasn't been back. That was 14 years ago...
The ghost that appeared about one year before it was more solid, an older man, dressed in a red golf shirt and actually walking down the stairs. Pretty fucking freaky. yessiree. It was never really "bad" vibes for me. Just sort of sad and creepy. Glad they are gone! But on the other hand I know they are gone because I wanted them to leave. So...
Christina, that sounds like a book of shadows. Many practitioners make them. I don't know what they practiced without seeing it.
Crap. I wish I still had the book, but it just gave me a bad feeling, and I sold it at a garage sale years ago. I really do wish I had it so I could show it to you. It would have been interesting to know what it was for sure. It would also be interesting to know where it went, or if the person who bought it knew what it was, or maybe was just intrigued by it, like I was.
