So, Lis was here yesterday..the bus dropped her off because her mom had a doctors appointment. And she told me her mom wasn't coming back..and I was, like, of course she is. And she said, not today, because she's going to have the baby. She said "My brother will be here tomorrow." So weird. But, sure enough, her mom went into labor at the doctors office. It's early, though not a whole lot, and they tried all night to stop the labor, but, couldn't. They shipped her to Omaha for some reason and she's going to have a C section today.*
It's always exciting to have a new baby arrive, but, I know there are problems or they wouldn't have sent her to the city. Lissa is coming over again to stay here for awhile and I know she's worried. I think we'll work in the yard today waiting for the call.

Sending positive thoughts to Lissa's mom and her family. Hope you hear something soon and that Lissa can focus her worried energy on the garden.
Everything will be great! Yay for baby brother! They will both be just fine! Stay busy and don't worry too much. Hard to do but keeping Lissa'a mind on other things will help both of you to not worry. Love you all.

First off, I hope all is well with both mom and baby.
Second - Wow. Way to Lissa. She is obviously related to you!

This exactly. Hope all goes well today :) .
Whoops! That last anonymous was me, Kylie's Mom.
Thanks, you guys. Lis is here now and she says "IT'S SO EXCITING!" And I told her I'm sure they'll be fine and she said, of course they will. He's going to have brown hair and blue eyes and be really cute. I was like, wtf? but, she's been right every time so far.
That little girl is just so intuitive. Hoping Mom and baby are both healthy and Lissa has nothing more to worry about. Poor little girl. Some people are just born worriers.
Well, our family has had some real tragedies that affected her directly, so she know bad things do happen. But, she's sure this will be alright.
Ah bless lil Lissas heart :) she's knows.
It's gonna be fine DD he already has
a beautiful big sister waiting for him.
He's just in a hurry to meet her that's all.
You have an exceptionally great lil
granddaughter in Lissa DD. All my best.
Please keep us posted sending love 2u. Kiki :)
Good news, and if Lissa is confident that makes me confident too. As you said, her track record for this kind of thing is pretty amazing.
Best wishes and lots of positive energy going your way and for Lissa and her family too.
DD, I hope everything will be good with the wee one - and Lis's mom. That Lis....such a cool kid. That apple didn't fall far from the tree!
Your garden is looking good! So nice to see green again, eh?
Best wishes to you DD and little lissa. I hope her mommy has a safe, easy, and healthy pregnacy and beginning. Sending positive vibs and thoughts.
Your mother may have gotten everything above ground but she didn't get your bulbs. Give the finger.
I wonder sometimes how women ever had babies without all the medical intervention that they do now. You and I know they sent her to Omaha to avoid any potential law suits just in case. All will be fine.
DD, I hope you and Lissa have a great afternoon in the garden, which, btw is beautiful! Digging in the soil (and going fishing) always makes me calm and almost zen-like. Everything will be good w/the baby and mom. Let us know when you hear something!
DD are these flowers blooming in your yard right now? Cuz dang we still have snow up here. Snow and frozen ground...
Love Lis's description of baby brother 's color of hair & eyes. Very exciting and keep us posted!
I know Lissa is excited! She will be a great big sister and will be a lot of help to her mom. Positive thoughts are being sent. I hope you hear something soon and share the good news!
And want to add that I like the new banner, DD :)
Sending warm thoughts and best wishes to you guys! That Lissa's a pistol alright--sounds like an awesome little girl! Let us know as soon as you know something!!!
The tulips & daff's look great!
All the best to you & your family. Wonderful! Spring is all about brand new & you're about to get a new member to your family. That Lissa is one smart cookie, she's going to be an awesome big sis. Have a great time in the garden today!
So nice to see fresh blooming on the page! All the best to the growing family. So exciting so many sleepless nights. :) Let me rephrase that, so many 2 hour naps. :)
Hope everything is going well, Pat. That Lissa is one smart little cookie. I'm glad you've got her there with you.
They probably transferred mom because of medical issues that could mean the baby would be transferred to a higher level care center. Neonatal care is so specialized, and hospitals are very careful not to bite off more than they can chew. We often transfer out delivering moms who are more than a month early, especially if there are medical issues other than prematurity involved. I am all for it, because if they deliver at my hospital, and the baby needs a higher level of care than what we can provide, the baby is transferred, but the mom is not. Insurance companies are behind this, of course. The delivering hospital gets the fees, and if the mom transfers to another hospital, no-one wants to pay for the ambulance ride, or the mother's care in the second hospital. I have been very outspoken against this way of handling transfers, but it's made little change in the process. I think it's cruel, and if we are going to care for families, then we need to keep mom and babe together. It's really very simple.
They probably just transferred in anticipation of a little additional supportive care. It sounds to me as though her pregnancy has been high surveillance, and they would have hospitalized her before now if anything was seriously amiss. I'm sending all the positive thoughts your (and her) way, Pat.
If they moved momm with an unscheduled C section they probably just want to be prepared.
Baby brother will be home soon enough and hopefully Lissa can get her mind off her worries and be nothing more than an excited "big" sis.
Good wishes DD! I'm sure Lissa will have lots of fun being a big sis to her little brother. I have two little brothers of my own. (Well not "little" anymore, they both tower over me now...ha ha.)
Good luck to mom and babe. Lissa's brown haired, blue eyed brother is a lucky kid. I know Lissa will love and protect him. And I know she can teach him a few things. I'm so glad you have flowers out. For all that snow, you have beat us to flowers. I haven't even cleared the dead plants out yet. I should have at least my tomato plants in by now.
Got my fingers and toes crossed for ya'll.
No baby yet. She got up there and the labor stopped. They're sending her home and trying to keep the baby in for 2 more weeks.
