Pickle brine and whiskey..delicious high class cocktail

As with all good bar stories, the origins of the pickle back aren't particularly clear. It's generally held to emanate from New York and can be found in a number of bars there. It can be a shot of bourbon followed by a shot of pickle brine, but more often than not starts with a shot of Jameson Irish whiskey. Conceptually it makes sense, say aficionados, but, you must use the correct brine and a fine whiskey.

Oh, shut the fuck up. I know exactly where this originated. Two drunken idiots were one up-ing each other in the stupidity department and after spending $10 bucks in change to play the "You Were Born An Asshole" song on the juke box repeatedly, one dared the other to eat 6 of the 40 year old moldy pickled eggs behind the bar. The bartender..bored with Jerry Springer...decided to let the moron do it. Using a tire iron borrowed from a pick up illegally parked near the door, she tied a bar rag around her face to block the smell and pried off the dusty ancient jar lid and fished out 6 vomitacious green antique eggs. After the deed was done, the egg eater dared the other drunk to drink a glass of the foul brine. They hurled on each other and she threw them out and barred them for a week. They came back a week later and played dentist, this time the bet was on who could pull out the most teeth with a pair of pliers.
